June Day 11......

Before I start today's post I want to say thank you so much
for all your kind words on yesterday's post. The fact that you take
the time to visit my little blog and leave such lovely comments
warms my heart.....you're all fantastic!
June Day 11: Dish the dirt on your biggest spend
OR
Craft something for a child recipient.

So for today Kairen wants us to dish the dirt on our biggest spend..
......oh dear.......now before I admit to anything, I don't drink, well only a
little at Christmas, I don't smoke.......and I do feed the kids........honest!
I was going to say my biggest single spend was my Big Shot......but
that was a present from the kids......so maybe it was my Spectrum
Noirs.......but they were a present too! So it will have to be my Pro/Flex
markers, I've had them for a fair few years now & when they started to
run out I tried the Spectrums......and I love them! So now the dilemma is do I
stick with the Spectrums which are much more affordable or do I try
and replace the Pro/Flex markers....jury still out on that one!
After my pens, it would have to be my papers....oh my, don't you just
love the smell! I even have some paper that's older than my kids...
....and that's just sad! I have it stashed in drawers, on shelves, in boxes
under my bed. I put myself on a stash ban at the beginning of the year and
still didn't run out....but guess what......sometimes I just don't have the
right paper  ;)......bet I'm not the only one lol!!
I've gone for the double today and crafted something for a child,
although it's not particularly child like it is for my daughter!

It's supposed to be a wall hanging but I didn't have enough of the
gingham ribbon so for now it's not hanging anywhere.....no doubt Miss
Rebecca will use it as a bookmark! I used black card for the base,
a snippet of purple paper, the image is from D'Arcy's Diary, the heart
is Memory box, the flowers are Elizabeth dies & I used Spectrum
Noir pens. Can't wait to read about your biggest spend...be honest now!!

  1. My biggest craft spend to date was my Spectrum Noirs - am only missing one set now! The original twelve 6 pen sets sat stashed in the bottom of my wardrobe (hidden from himself's eyes) for months & months & months before he realised I had them. His comment? "They look expensive." "They were expensive" I replied. End of conversation. He doesn't know about the other 3 pen sets .... yet!!!
Love the hanging for Miss Rebecca - great colours!
Have a great evening - Love Helen xxx

  2. Glad it was you who had to answer that question lol
I dread to think how much I have spent on craft items over the years.

  3. I think you're very good Jo - I don't think I could - or should admit to my biggest spend - but its probably a round the world ticket when I was in my early 30's. A lot of bad things had happened and the opportunity came along and I took it! It was good therapy! Hugs rachel xx

  4. You took the words out of my mouth, I normally say I don't drink (well ony a tiny bit ebery now and again), I don't smoke - and crafting is still cheaper than therapy, so that's my excuse!

Love the wall hanging and the saying on it. I bought that digi stamp too. I have a lot of them, but sadly she hasn't released any new ones for ages. Wonder why that is? x

  6. Hi Jo, oh dear there seems to be a bit of a theme going on, doesn't there!! I quite agree we all appear to be pen-addicted!

I actually do know just how much I've spent - hubby has a super-duper computer programme where he keeps a track of it - I just don't look at it!!!

I also have the same reasons, don't drink / smoke / go out and have a hubby who also has hobbies (more expensive than mine!) so why on earth not indulge myself!! My only other indulgence are clothes - and that's not even for me anymore, it's mostly Emily's.

    See you tomorrow.

  7. This is so beautiful the image is gorgeous and your colouring is stunning as always......my biggest spend would have to be copics which l hadn't used before and l don't think l will because l like my pro/flexmarkers so much also pencils that l have tried and really can't get used to using them so they l think will be a sale very shortly but l'm like you l like lots of papers and yes your right you never have the right one.....lol take care x

  8. My Promarkers did cost a bit, but I tended to buy them in sets in a craft store - as they were half off and I could get away with spending a bit on them - but I agree though they are pricey, but they are awesome! Replacing them is a another thing though! Buying them individually I had no idea they would cost so much! I was like 'What?!' stick with the ones you like, have the least effort replacing and make you feel comfortable! I've seen the Spectrums on TV and they look pretty cool! xx

  9. I love your wall hanging, its really cool! Miss Rebecca must love it too! I am not sure what my biggest spend is. I have lots of Promarkers but bought them a few at a time. My biggest items were presents so they don't count. My most recent biggish purchase is the new Gelli Plate - love it! xx

  10. Hi Jo what a gorgeous wall hanging love the image, I have enough papers to open my own shop I think, and maybe more, lol. I have to relate to Helen hiding things from hubby, it doesn't always work though, lol.

  13. Love the wall hanging, too bad you ran out of the ribbon, it's quite wonderful! I can't believe how much money I have spent on paper-crafting! Paper is addictive, I have more that I will ever use AND I still go out and buy more. Same with all the other items that go with the hobby like die's and punches, you just cannot have enough of them:O), but oh the shopping is so much fun!
