Trying something new.....

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well! It's a bright. beautiful morning
here on the Yorkshire Coast........but oh, so cold......think I'll be staying
close to my toasty warm craft room!
Recently I watched a very talented lady (RachO113)  on Youtube and oh
my gosh, she is fantastic and so inspiring......so much so that I treated myself
to a small set of CARAN d'ACHE water soluble wax pastels and wow, I
love them lol! This was my very 1st attempt, not perfect by a long shot but I
just wanted to kind of get a feel for them, see if I thought I might like
them or if I'd be giving them to Miss Rebecca.........but do you know what?
I'm soooo keeping them lol! All I did was to draw a strip of colour then
go over it with a damp paintbrush and blend as much or as little as you want!
I added a couple of die cuts & a stamped sentiment and that's it done.
Rightio, off to get the uniforms washed & the tea in the slow cooker
then the rest of the day is my own! Thanks for popping by & whatever
you're up to have a lovely weekend!

Share an Oldie this Friday!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!
Thanks so much for dropping by my little corner of the web, I really do
appreciate it. Crafting time has been few & far between these days, this awful
rheumatoid arthritis is really taking it's toll......I see the specialist early February
so fingers crossed we can find something that works! For now though, if it's
a good day & I can use my hands I'm gonna sit at my desk as long as I can lol!
So today being Friday means it's time to join in with Erika over at
Snappycrafts and 'Share an Oldie this Friday'......I'm sharing another make
I did for my girlie, the image is Ragdoll Ruby from Dilly Beans & I love her..
......thankfully Rebecca does too lol. It's a tent style base, papers are Gorjuss,
die cuts are Clearly Besotted, Marianne & Tim Holtz.....I used Spectrum
Noir pens to colour the image & the seam binding & finished with some gems,
some doodling & some glitter......and a stamped sentiment!
Rightio, my friends......I can hear the housework a-calling & the sooner it's
done the sooner I can have a play. Thanks for calling.....see you soon!

Joining in with Tim's 12 tags of 2015!

Morning friends, hope you're all well & warm!
It's a cold, frosty morning here on the Yorkshire Coast so I don't think
I'll be venturing too far! A big hello & welcome to my 2 new followers,
thanks so much for joining me!
I've wanted to join in with Tim's 12 tags of .......for a while now and
so decided that 2015 is gonna be the year........there's a fantastic
tutorial over on Tim's blog. All is explained so well & there's a product
list too.........although you don't have to rush out & buy it all, you can use
whatever stash you have. I started with a plain tag and stamped on it
using a script stamp then covered it with a layer of glue & seal. Then I
covered it with some tissue paper scrunched up in places for texture.
I used vibrant turquoise and melted chocolate Dylusions, I think I was a
bit heavy handed with the spray as it turned out a bit darker than I
planned.....but I do quite like it! I used elements of the alpha parts, covered
the '5' with tarnished brass distress glitter and the words with the
tarnished brass distress stain. I added chit chat stickers & used a black
distress marker to smudge around the edges. Lastly, I dotted the whole tag
with a white signo uni ball pen..........and phew, that's it!
I loved making this & can't wait for February's!
Rightio, housework awaits.....thanks for calling, see you soon!

Share an Oldie this Friday!

Morning crafty bloggers, hope you're all well.
The wind seems to have died down a bit here, for now anyway and although
it's bitterly cold we have no snow or ice.......yet.....so I think I might toddle off
to town for an hour.......or two!
Anyway, as it's Friday I'm joining in with Erika over at Snappycrafts where
she invites us to 'share an oldie'! My oldie this week is one of my 1st attempts
(that I dare to show lol) at mixed media. It's a very simple mini canvas,
painted, inked with a die cut painted heart and a stamped sentiment.......very
simple but I loved it.......and I still do!
So that's all from me today, thanks for calling & whatever you're up to I
hope you have a lovely weekend!

Raise a glass....or a mug.....or even a china tea cup!

Morning crafters, happy Wednesday! Hope you're all well, safe & warm.
I'm sharing my Dt make for the latest challenge over at Sparkles Challenges
today, the theme as chosen by our lovely Brenda is
RAISE A GLASS TO THE NEW YEAR
We want to see anything drink related on your makes this time.....a glass
of something fizzy, a cup of tea or even a mug of coffee like me!
Once in a while one of my kids will pop into my craft room with a mug of
hot, frothy coffee in my favourite coffee mug.......so I decided to take a
pic & scrap it! I used a kit from Daisy Trail & scrapped it digitally in Serif.
We are lucky enough to have 2 sponsors this month......we have
Di's Digi's offering a $10 spend instore

and Craftybren's Embroidered Embellishments
As usual, you can find all rules (not many) and some gorgeous Dt
inspiration over on the main blog......we'd love to see you!
Thanks for calling........see you soon!

Let's share an oldie this Friday!

Morning crafters, hope you're all well!
Friday already so time to visit Erika & join in with her invitation to
'Share an Oldie'................it's just for fun & it IS fun to revisit past makes!
I love to see how my 'style' has changed......do I still like the card? Would I
it the same way again? Is it good enough?  I think mostly us crafters are very
critical of our own work, don't you?
So today I'm sharing a card I made about 18 months ago, the image is from
D'Arcy's Diaries & I think I coloured it with Spectrum Noir pens. Would I make
it the same today? No..........I'd ditch those dots lol........what was I thinking?
Still love the colours though & I do love distressing the edges of paper!!
Rightio, off to do something useful......and I don't mean the ironing.....I'm now
the proud owner of one empty ironing basket......can you believe it....9
days into the New Year and I HAVE NO IRONING.....none, not one single
item......yippee!!!! Think I might have a trip into town to celebrate!
Thanks for calling.....whatever you're up to have a lovely day!

A CHRISTMAS CRITTER WITH A TOUCH OF GLITTER!
We're so chuffed to have 2 sponsors this time....7 digis from Bugaboo
