Some sad news.......

Hi my crafty friends, I hope you're all well.
Just wanted to pop on & say sorry for not being around for the last few weeks.
Some of you know my Dad had been poorly for some time, sadly
he passed away on December 1st after an horrendous couple of weeks. Even though
it was expected it was still such a shock....but a very peaceful end
His funeral was yesterday & I hope we did him proud....it was such a sad day but
I was so very proud watching 4 of my sons carry their Grandad's coffin.......now we
have to try to move forward & have the fun-filled family Christmas he wanted for us...
....he certainly left lots of instructions....and made all of us promise to eat sprouts lol!
Dad died on the anniversary of my partner, Steve's death......I'm thinking the
two of them will be somewhere fighting over the remote control &
watching sports together!
I'm hoping to be back in my craft room after Christmas, I need it now more
than ever.......I definitely have a crafty itch that needs scratching lol!
Thanks for popping in.........whatever you're up to have a lovely day....and don't
forget to give your loved ones a hug......speak soon.

A Christmas card topper from me today, lots of paper, card & mirri card layers topped with a gorgeous
Winter scene. I added a die cut frame, placed the sentiment on even more layers cut with a banner die
& then I finished with a layered die cut snowflake with a faux gem centre.
Thanks for calling.....and whatever you have planned this weekend I hope it involves some crafty time!
See you soon.

November Challenge at Not Just Cards!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & warm.....it's so cold, dark & grey here.
So sorry I've not been around the past few days, I've had so much going on
here I don't know whether I'm coming or going!
Anyway, today I'm sharing my Dt make for the latest challenge over at
Apologies to my Teamies, I should have posted on the 11th but time just ran away
with with me!
The theme, as usual, is anything goes & if you're low on inspiration do pop over to the
main blog.....you'll be amazed at the fab Dt makes. I made a card topper this
time....I started with a white piece of card, added  a scenic back ground, next came
a piece of snowflake printed card into which I cut an aperture. I layered this up with
foam pads for extra dimension. Next, I added the chipboard Snowman, the
Christmas gift and the little house onto the background.......then I finished with
 some faux gems!
Don't forget, we love to see any & all makes over at Not Just Cards, hope to see
you there! Thanks for calling.....see you tomorrow!

Paper Frosting Friday!

Woohoo.....it's Friday! Probably my favourite day of the week, I should
maybe change it to AsherDay as it's the day I have my gorgeous grandson..
....and I get to keep him overnight too. After tea we have bathtime, oh my,
that boy loves water...then it's snuggle time before bed. Tomorrow we might
have a lazy day at home or we'll maybe go shopping depending on the
weather.........but whatever we decide to do it'll involve lots of cuddles.
So being Friday it's also Paper Frosting Friday....the day of the week for me
to share some handmade embellishments. Why Paper Frosting?Well,I just
think embellishments is a bit of a mouthful & Paper Frosting sounds much
nicer! Today I have some beautiful white poinsettias to share.....very quick &
easy I simply die cut all the elements needed, glued them all together &
finished each one with a faux pearl. The base layer is either silver x 3 &
gold x 3....just cos it's a bit more Christmas like lol.
If you have any Paper Frosting to share do leave me a comment so's I can
come have a look.....I'd love to see.
Thanks for calling today, whatever you're up to have a lovely day.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!

Hi friends, hope you're all well.
Ooh, another Christmas card to share today......I'm really ploughing through
the Christmas makes now.....and I'm loving every minute of it!
I'm hoping to start on Asher's advent calender soon, a bit last minute I know
but I think I have everything ready, it's just a matter of painting, sticking &
arranging all the bits & pieces so hopefully I'll be on time.
So today's make is a Studio Light creation with a few bits added from
my stash. I placed the tree and the reindeers on foam pads to add a bit of
dimension and I layered the whole lot on gold mirri then on black card.
Thanks for calling, whatever you're up to......take care &  have a lovely day.
See you tomorrow.

How Many Reindeers Can You Name?

Hi friends, welcome to my little piece of Blogland....hope you're all well?
Two toppers to share today, super quick & easy & finished with only
faux gems......I think these must be the quickest toppers I've ever made!
I do quite like them & might make more in different colours......and they'll
be great for posting too!
The card & gems were from my stash but the die I'm not sure about....I'm
ashamed to say it's been in a drawer for at least 2 years & this is the first time
I've used it!
So tomorrow being Thursday would normally be Throwback Thursday
but I'm going to have to put it on hold for now as I seem to have lost
all my old photos......I'm sure they'll be around somewhere but think I'm
going to need techie son to help find them!
Rightio, that's my lot for today, thanks for calling!

Through the Window

Hi friends, are you all well? I hope so......and a big thank you to all who wished me
well for my appointments yesterday. Unfortunately trips to the Dr's are a weekly
thing for me....with the odd hospital appointment thrown in! It seems the drugs
used to treat my ailments also cause side effects which bring along a whole new
set of problems! Anyway, enough of that for now.......back to crafting lol!
So today I have another Christmas topper to share, I love the clean, crisp lines
of this on & it'a a favourite colour combo too. The image is one from a very old
sheet of toppers, the frame a die cut....actually everything else is die cut & I
finished with a peel off sentiment & some faux gems.
Oh, how I'd love to be snuggled up in a little cottage looking out at that view!
I can almost hear the silence that I imagine comes with that view.....does that make
sense lol? That lovely stillness that you get with snow? Ooh I love Winter!
Rightio, shopping to do today......thanks for calling & for any comment you might
leave......see you tomorrow.

Hi friends, just a quick post before I start on the days appointments.
A round Christmas card topper to share today, well.....I say topper, I might just
change it into an easel card yet. Simple paper & card die cut shapes layered
together, I added some silver die cut foliage, a beautiful die cut poinsettia with a
faux pearl centre & finished with a silver die cut sentiment. Sorry the sentiment
looks a bit fuzzy......I must have taken a half dozen pics & they all look fuzzy!
Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

Poppies for Remembrance

Hi friends, welcome to my little corner of Blogland!
Hope you're all well & warm, it's a little bit chilly here today & looks like
it might rain....oh well, I'm toasty warm in my craft room & that's where I plan on
staying for the day. All jobs done, the tea is prepared....a nice, easy, peaceful
day is what I'm hoping for as tomorrow is a bit full on.....I have a Dr appointment
AND a hospital appointment  so I imagine I'll be waiting around quite a lot.
So back to today & I have a remembrance card topper to share.....quite clean & simple
so as not to take away from the beautiful image. I die cut a moonstone die frame
from Hunkydory, added the image (also Hunkydory) after I'd cut it into 3
then finished with a printed sentiment layered onto 2 die cut banners & finished
with a faux gem.
That's me for today, thanks for calling & whatever you're up to I hope you manage
a little crafty time too......see you tomorrow!

Something for the Weekend!

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well.
So it's Saturday already which means......welcome to 'Something for the Weekend'!
Come share something with me.....could be a crafty make, a photo, a joke,
anything you'd like to share I'd like to see!

I was going to share a non crafty make today but was so pleased with these little toppers
I just had to share them! Why? Well, because I got all 3 toppers from one sheet, 1 piece of
paper and 1 sheet of gold mirri card......and I still have some left! So now I'm
thinking I might have to challenge myself more to see just how much I can get from so
little......watch this space lol. Not sure where the topper sheet came from, it must be
quite old......I'm on a mission to use up old stash, only thing is I never seem to get to the
end of anything. Some of the kits you can buy nowadays have so much in them, I suppose
that's a good thing in one way but sometimes I do end up with quite a lot left. Still, I'm
not complaining, it just means I have to have a good sort out every so often & when I
find something I forgot I had it's like having something new all over again!
Enough waffling from me, thanks for calling & whatever you're up to....
have a lovely weekend!

Paper Frosting Friday!

Hi friends, happy Friday....it's a beautiful day here on the Yorkshire Coast, the
sun is shining, the sky is blue......and it's Paper Frosting Friday.....my
day of the week to share some home made embellishments......don't you think
paper frosting sounds much nicer?
Anyway. I have the simplest of makes to share today.....super quick & easy & a great
way to use up some scraps. I used kraft card & more of the pages from my damaged
Harry Potter book.......but I promise that'll be the last for a while now lol.
I used only scallop & circle dies, heart dies & finished each one with a faux pearl.
Thanks for visiting & for any comments you might leave, I appreciate them so
much......whatever you're up to hope you have a lovely day.

Thursday Throwback!

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well......and welcome to Thursday Throwback! My weekly look back at past makes.....would you make the same again.....or would you rather not lol. Today I'm sharing a necklace I made, the images are from the fabulous Oddball Art & are from my colouring days when I was a member of their Dt. I coloured them on shrink plastic, used my heat gun to shrink them......I remember being so happy with them as this was the first time I'd used shrink plastic with any success. I love how the colours intensify when the image is shrunk and you don't lose any of the detail.
I took quite a long length of beading elastic & threaded on seed beads & pearl....hundreds of 'em lol.....added
the charm to the pendant with a jump ring then attached them to the necklace.......done!
I'm still happy with this make, I made it for my daughter but sadly I don't think I'd make anything like this again with these arthritic hands of mine. It is nice to look back though. Do you fancy joining me?
Would love it if you did......just leave me a comment so's I know to come visit you back.
Rightio......jobs awaiting......thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

With Love at Christmas

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & warm.
It was a cold & frosty morning today.....boys had to scrape the windscreens before they
could go anywhere, think they might need to get up a bit earlier from now on lol.
Speaking of cold & frosty.....I found this image whilst I was looking for something else.
I have no idea where it's from but I fell in love with it straightaway....best of all there's
another one on the sheet!
I started with a base of navy card, added a silver mirri layer then 3 distressed paper
layers & lastly the image. Lots of silver mirri snowflakes, a foiled sentiment &
some faux gems....and that's it, job done!
Can't believe we're on Wednesday already.....and it's November tomorrow....oh my, where
is the year going? Think I better step it up a bit for Christmas, I'm way behind!

Explosion of Colour with Crafty Cardmakers!

Hi friends, hope you're all well, warm & had a lovely weekend.
Today I have my Dt make for the latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers, the theme is:
EXPLOSION OF COLOUR
As usual, any & all crafts are welcome & if you pop over to the main blog you will
see some fabulous Dt makes for your inspiration....we're a very diverse team so
there's sure to be something to tickle your fancy!
I wanted the image to be the main focus of my make this time so I went with
decoupage.....aren't those poppies just beautiful? Here's a closer look at the layers:
Rightio, busy day today so I'll love you & leave you......thanks for calling....

With Love

Hi friends....hope you're all well & having a lovely weekend.
I'm planning on a nice, peaceful craft-ernoon ......the tea (lasagne & salad) is all prepared,
jobs are done, cats are napping.....just need to pop the kettle on then I'm good to go!
Another card topper to share today......I'm not really much of a teddy person but just recently
I've been rather drawn to them so I suspect there'll be more popping up here. They do seem
to be very popular and I suppose if you like them then they'll suit for almost any
occasion. I started with a patterned card base, added a layer of textured white card, a
strip of pink foiled card then added the layers of decoupage, the sentiment is slightly
raised on foam pads then I finished with some faux gems & a little silver bow.
Okie dokie, that's me for today.....thanks for calling & for any comments you might

Something for the Weekend!

Morning crafty friends & bloggers, welcome to 'Something for the Weekend'.....the perfect
time to share something......anything you want, doesn't have to be crafty!
I have a card topper to share today....all pink & silver & black with lots of foiling too
although that doesn't show up too well in the photo, it's so much prettier IRL.
I was debating whether or not to put this on the front of a notebook so it could be used
as one of those books that people sign & leave a little message in at parties.
Or I could make it into a card & make a notebook as well.....ooh, I've got a head
full of ideas now lol!
Nothing much planned here today, was going to have a wander around town with
my grandson but it's cold, dark & ever so wet so might have to have a rethink on that.
Do you have anything nice planned?
Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow.

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & looking forward to the weekend.
So it's Paper Frosting Friday again.....the day I share my handmade embellishments......
......why Paper Frosting? Well, just because embellishments is such a mouthful.....
and paper frosting sounds so much nicer, I think.
So today I have some Harry Potter inspired envelopes to share, perfect for scrapbook
pages, journals, card making........I'm sure there's many uses for them. I used more pages
from my water damaged Harry Potter book, added an insert for journaling, stamping
etc., or you could add cinema tickets and/or receipts. What do you think? I wanted to
keep them fairly plain then they could be added to as & when required.
Rightio, almost tea time so I better dash.....thanks for calling & for any comments

As Halloween is almost upon us I thought I'd share some ATC's I made a fair
few years ago....I'm not sure where the image is from, maybe Dilly Beans?
The tombstone was die cut & coloured with promarkers, the mesh background
was from one of the £ shops & the letters were stickers.
Rightio, better go get something done if I want an hour (or two) in the
craft room later. Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

Something for the Weekend!

Hi friends.......welcome to 'Something for the Weekend'!
My share this weekend is a furry one lol.....some of you might know I'm a bit
of a crazy cat lady........and I think one of my boys uses that to his advantage lol.
So when Willow needed a home he literally just turned up with her......then about 3 weeks
later he arrived with her brother, Dash..........how could I refuse those sweet faces?
They're now 6 months old & they really are the sweetest kittens, they get on so well with the others, they love snuggles, spiders......and worms!! And when they purr
it sounds like a  freight train going past!!
Hope you're having a lovely weekend.....and if you want to share 'Something for the
Weekend' do leave me a comment so I can come visit you too.
Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow.

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well.
I know I say it every week but oh my, don't these Friday's come around quick?
So it's Paper Frosting Friday again......the day I share my handmade embellishments...
......why paper Frosting? Well, just because embellishments is such a mouthful.....
and Paper Frosting sounds so much nicer, I think.
So this week I have some handmade flowers to share. I made these with some leather
offcuts and a Harry Potter book that was sadly water damaged & I couldn't bring myself
to throw it away. I started with a die cut leather base, added layers of die cut book
pages & finished with a faux pearl centre. It's quite hard to see all the layers in the pic
but IRL when they're all scrunched up they look so good.
Here's a close up:
Rightio, that's me for today.....thanks for calling & for any comments you might

Thursday Throwback

Hi friends, hope you're all well......and welcome to Thursday                                       Throwback, my weekly look back at past crafty makes. I think it's fun to have a look back & see how our styles have changed. Do you still like your make? Would you change anything? Or would you rather not be reminded lol.
If you fancy joining me then please leave me a comment so I can come have a look too.

This week I'm looking back at a mixed media canvas I made for my bedroom, I think it was
about three and a half years ago......and I still love it, it still hangs on my bedroom wall!
I used tissue paper, gesso, paint, paper, beads, caran d'ache crayons, ric rac, Tim Holtz word stickers......you name it, it's probably on there somewhere lol
Here's a pic from the very start, I'd primed the canvas, drawn the half heart shape then added the scrunched up tissue using lots of gesso
And here's a pic of the finished canvas
Thanks for calling & for any comment you might leave....see you tomorrow!

Feeling Christmas!

Morning friends.....hope you're all well.
I've not blogged since Friday & it feels like so much longer.....I've had a busy
few days what with Asher's birthday party & then on impulse I decided to change two
rooms around.......do you ever do that? Oh my, halfway through I wished I hadn't
started but the end result is lovely. I was going to redecorate but instead just bought
some new cushions and rearranged he furniture and I'm so pleased.......and now I
have room for my Christmas tree so I'm really feeling Christmas. I love that
warm, fuzzy, comfortable feeling that comes at this time of the year......the dark
nights, cosy fires, hot chocolate......ooh, I love it all!
Anyway, that's way too much waffling from me......if you're still with me I have
a Christmas card to share......quite an unusual colour combo but I do like it.
I started with a black card base, added a layer of turquoise foiled bauble card & then
decorated with lots of silver & black die cuts & ribbon and finished with some faux gems.
Rightio, that's me for today......thanks for calling......see you tomorrow.

Morning friends.....happy Friday.......and what a dull, grey & wet day is is too!
Hope you're all well & have something nice

So as it's Friday (don't they come around quick?) it's time to share some more
of my paper frosting......my handmade card/scrap/journal pieces although
I think they could maybe be used for all sorts of other things!
I made some little word tags this week using inspirational/motivational words
and some scraps of paper left over from a Tim Holtz paper pad. I simply cut the
paper to the size I wanted.....added the computer printed words, punched a hole
& finished with some leather cord.......job done!
Thanks for calling......see you at the weekend!

New Challenge at Not Just Cards!

Morning crafty friends & bloggers......happy Thursday!
It's a very special day for us today.......my grandson Asher is one!!!
He's such a gorgeous, happy baby......so easy to take care of.....and he makes
the funniest noises! I can't  believe how fast the year has gone.....makes me
wish I could keep him at this age for another year. He's coming to us on
Saturday & we're having a little tea party for him so hopefully I'll have some
pics to share next week.
Anyway, I'm also here to tell you about the new challenge over at
The theme, as usual, is anything goes so this time I made a bottle tag for
a bottle of wine I gave to my stepfather for his birthday recently.
I didn't measure, just cut my card to the size I wanted, used a circle die to
cut the hole......then set to decorating. Another great way to use up some bits
from the scrap box too.....although I'm sure I'll never get to the bottom
of it! Rightio, better get a move on....if you fancy joining us this month

Hunkydory as is the backing paper & tag. I added some die cut elements -
poinsettia & foliage and finished with a little silver bow & some faux gems.

Another Pink & Gold Christmas!

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well.
Been a busy day here......Dr appointment, shopping & the usual tidying up, washing,
hoovering etc but I managed to sneak in a crafty hour or so. I wanted to join in over
at Jingle Belles where they're asking us for pink holiday cards for Breast Cancer
awareness. For every card that's linked up the Jingle Belles will donate two
dollars to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.........how generous is that?
All they ask is that pink features prominently & that the card theme is Winter/Christmas.
I made one last weekend, another today & I'm hoping to make a few more!
I started with a gold mirri base then used elements from a Studio Light booklet,
I added a few extra die cut pieces & finished with a few faux gems......done!
Rightio, better go start on the tea....thanks for calling.....see you tomorrow.

Hi crafty friends & bloggers......welcome to my little piece of the web!
I thought it was about time I shared a Halloween card .......the only one I've
made so far this year! I started with my favourite black base then added some
distressed paper layers - Mischievous by My Mind's Eye - next I added
some die cuts & finished with a peel off word sticker (remember them?) on
the banner die cut.....oh, and a couple of black faux gems.
Quick, easy & inspired by one of my cats........sat at the side of a tree in
the back garden.........thankfully the tree's not as scary as this one though!
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave....whatever you're
up to have a lovely day........see you tomorrow.

Something for the Weekend!

Morning crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well......and welcome to
Something for the Weekend!
Today I have a Christmas card to share.......all pink & gold & shiny.....so
not me lol but I have to say I love it! I started with a base of gold mirri card
then added elements from a Studio Light sheet. Of course, I couldn't stop there
and so I added more gold die cuts & finished with a couple of faux gems.
I'm loving the Studio Light booklets, they offer so much and you can make them
as simple as you like or add to them as much as you like......and there's a
fantastic range too.....booklets for all occasions!
Rightio, that's me for today........off for a wander around the town.
Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

You Are Special

Hi friends, happy Wednesday......Wednesday already! Doesn't time fly
when you're having crafty fun......or even when you're not lol.
Today I have a minimalist card to share......so hard for me to do, I just want to
pile on anything & everything! I am wondering though, should I add the
word 'so' as in 'You are so special' or leave it as it is?
Anyway, more bits from the bit box for this card, so quick & easy and I'm
sure it'll look good in other colour combo's and different sentiments.....I'm loving
the cards with one big word on them at the moment.
Rightio, lots to do today so I'll love you & leave you....thanks for calling.
See you tomorrow.

Robbon and/or Lace with Crafty Cardmakers!

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, happy October 1st! I hope you had a lovely weekend
and are raring to go for the week ahead! I can't quite believe we're into October
already.....and my grandson is almost 1 year old!
Anyway, enough waffling from me....I'm here today with my Dt make for the
latest challenge over on the Crafty Cardmakers blog where the theme is:
RIBBON and/or LACE
A lovely theme, I think.........I was going to go with girly & feminine but time
ran away with me & I thought I better get a move on with some Halloween makes
so I made the simplest of tags. I used die cut tags, die cut the webs & spiders
from silver mirri.....oh my, were they a pain to stick down lol! I used green
slime coloured ribbon & finished with a faux gem in the centre of the spider.
Would love to see you join us......as usual  any & all makes are welcome, there's
hardly any rules & there's some fabulous Dt work for your inspiration...
......hope to see you there!
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave.....see you tomorrow!
