November Challenge at Not Just Cards!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & warm.....it's so cold, dark & grey here.
So sorry I've not been around the past few days, I've had so much going on
here I don't know whether I'm coming or going!
Anyway, today I'm sharing my Dt make for the latest challenge over at
Apologies to my Teamies, I should have posted on the 11th but time just ran away
with with me!
The theme, as usual, is anything goes & if you're low on inspiration do pop over to the
main blog.....you'll be amazed at the fab Dt makes. I made a card topper this
time....I started with a white piece of card, added  a scenic back ground, next came
a piece of snowflake printed card into which I cut an aperture. I layered this up with
foam pads for extra dimension. Next, I added the chipboard Snowman, the
Christmas gift and the little house onto the background.......then I finished with
 some faux gems!
Don't forget, we love to see any & all makes over at Not Just Cards, hope to see
you there! Thanks for calling.....see you tomorrow!

Paper Frosting Friday!

Woohoo.....it's Friday! Probably my favourite day of the week, I should
maybe change it to AsherDay as it's the day I have my gorgeous grandson..
....and I get to keep him overnight too. After tea we have bathtime, oh my,
that boy loves water...then it's snuggle time before bed. Tomorrow we might
have a lazy day at home or we'll maybe go shopping depending on the
weather.........but whatever we decide to do it'll involve lots of cuddles.
So being Friday it's also Paper Frosting Friday....the day of the week for me
to share some handmade embellishments. Why Paper Frosting?Well,I just
think embellishments is a bit of a mouthful & Paper Frosting sounds much
nicer! Today I have some beautiful white poinsettias to share.....very quick &
easy I simply die cut all the elements needed, glued them all together &
finished each one with a faux pearl. The base layer is either silver x 3 &
gold x 3....just cos it's a bit more Christmas like lol.
If you have any Paper Frosting to share do leave me a comment so's I can
come have a look.....I'd love to see.
Thanks for calling today, whatever you're up to have a lovely day.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas!

Hi friends, hope you're all well.
Ooh, another Christmas card to share today......I'm really ploughing through
the Christmas makes now.....and I'm loving every minute of it!
I'm hoping to start on Asher's advent calender soon, a bit last minute I know
but I think I have everything ready, it's just a matter of painting, sticking &
arranging all the bits & pieces so hopefully I'll be on time.
So today's make is a Studio Light creation with a few bits added from
my stash. I placed the tree and the reindeers on foam pads to add a bit of
dimension and I layered the whole lot on gold mirri then on black card.
Thanks for calling, whatever you're up to......take care &  have a lovely day.
See you tomorrow.

How Many Reindeers Can You Name?

Hi friends, welcome to my little piece of Blogland....hope you're all well?
Two toppers to share today, super quick & easy & finished with only
faux gems......I think these must be the quickest toppers I've ever made!
I do quite like them & might make more in different colours......and they'll
be great for posting too!
The card & gems were from my stash but the die I'm not sure about....I'm
ashamed to say it's been in a drawer for at least 2 years & this is the first time
I've used it!
So tomorrow being Thursday would normally be Throwback Thursday
but I'm going to have to put it on hold for now as I seem to have lost
all my old photos......I'm sure they'll be around somewhere but think I'm
going to need techie son to help find them!
Rightio, that's my lot for today, thanks for calling!

Through the Window

Hi friends, are you all well? I hope so......and a big thank you to all who wished me
well for my appointments yesterday. Unfortunately trips to the Dr's are a weekly
thing for me....with the odd hospital appointment thrown in! It seems the drugs
used to treat my ailments also cause side effects which bring along a whole new
set of problems! Anyway, enough of that for now.......back to crafting lol!
So today I have another Christmas topper to share, I love the clean, crisp lines
of this on & it'a a favourite colour combo too. The image is one from a very old
sheet of toppers, the frame a die cut....actually everything else is die cut & I
finished with a peel off sentiment & some faux gems.
Oh, how I'd love to be snuggled up in a little cottage looking out at that view!
I can almost hear the silence that I imagine comes with that view.....does that make
sense lol? That lovely stillness that you get with snow? Ooh I love Winter!
Rightio, shopping to do today......thanks for calling & for any comment you might
leave......see you tomorrow.

Merry Christmas!

Hi friends, just a quick post before I start on the days appointments.
A round Christmas card topper to share today, well.....I say topper, I might just
change it into an easel card yet. Simple paper & card die cut shapes layered
together, I added some silver die cut foliage, a beautiful die cut poinsettia with a
faux pearl centre & finished with a silver die cut sentiment. Sorry the sentiment
looks a bit fuzzy......I must have taken a half dozen pics & they all look fuzzy!
Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

Poppies for Remembrance

Hi friends, welcome to my little corner of Blogland!
Hope you're all well & warm, it's a little bit chilly here today & looks like
it might rain....oh well, I'm toasty warm in my craft room & that's where I plan on
staying for the day. All jobs done, the tea is prepared....a nice, easy, peaceful
day is what I'm hoping for as tomorrow is a bit full on.....I have a Dr appointment
AND a hospital appointment  so I imagine I'll be waiting around quite a lot.
So back to today & I have a remembrance card topper to share.....quite clean & simple
so as not to take away from the beautiful image. I die cut a moonstone die frame
from Hunkydory, added the image (also Hunkydory) after I'd cut it into 3
then finished with a printed sentiment layered onto 2 die cut banners & finished
with a faux gem.
That's me for today, thanks for calling & whatever you're up to I hope you manage
a little crafty time too......see you tomorrow!

Something for the Weekend!

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well.
So it's Saturday already which means......welcome to 'Something for the Weekend'!
Come share something with me.....could be a crafty make, a photo, a joke,
anything you'd like to share I'd like to see!

I was going to share a non crafty make today but was so pleased with these little toppers
I just had to share them! Why? Well, because I got all 3 toppers from one sheet, 1 piece of
paper and 1 sheet of gold mirri card......and I still have some left! So now I'm
thinking I might have to challenge myself more to see just how much I can get from so
little......watch this space lol. Not sure where the topper sheet came from, it must be
quite old......I'm on a mission to use up old stash, only thing is I never seem to get to the
end of anything. Some of the kits you can buy nowadays have so much in them, I suppose
that's a good thing in one way but sometimes I do end up with quite a lot left. Still, I'm
not complaining, it just means I have to have a good sort out every so often & when I
find something I forgot I had it's like having something new all over again!
Enough waffling from me, thanks for calling & whatever you're up to....
have a lovely weekend!

Paper Frosting Friday!

Hi friends, happy Friday....it's a beautiful day here on the Yorkshire Coast, the
sun is shining, the sky is blue......and it's Paper Frosting Friday.....my
day of the week to share some home made embellishments......don't you think
paper frosting sounds much nicer?
Anyway. I have the simplest of makes to share today.....super quick & easy & a great
way to use up some scraps. I used kraft card & more of the pages from my damaged
Harry Potter book.......but I promise that'll be the last for a while now lol.
I used only scallop & circle dies, heart dies & finished each one with a faux pearl.
Thanks for visiting & for any comments you might leave, I appreciate them so
much......whatever you're up to hope you have a lovely day.

Thursday Throwback!

Hi crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well......and welcome to Thursday Throwback! My weekly look back at past makes.....would you make the same again.....or would you rather not lol. Today I'm sharing a necklace I made, the images are from the fabulous Oddball Art & are from my colouring days when I was a member of their Dt. I coloured them on shrink plastic, used my heat gun to shrink them......I remember being so happy with them as this was the first time I'd used shrink plastic with any success. I love how the colours intensify when the image is shrunk and you don't lose any of the detail.
I took quite a long length of beading elastic & threaded on seed beads & pearl....hundreds of 'em lol.....added
the charm to the pendant with a jump ring then attached them to the necklace.......done!
I'm still happy with this make, I made it for my daughter but sadly I don't think I'd make anything like this again with these arthritic hands of mine. It is nice to look back though. Do you fancy joining me?
Would love it if you did......just leave me a comment so's I know to come visit you back.
Rightio......jobs awaiting......thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!
