Sparkles Challenges DT card - Mothering Sunday/Spring

Morning friends, hope your day has got off to a great start!

Mine has because it's March 15th and that means it's time for another challenge

over at Sparkles and this month the theme is

Mothering Sunday or Spring!

I chose to make a scallop circle card using a stamp i'm ashamed to say has never seen ink before!!

Eeeekk!!! Can't believe i just told you that!

I wanted to make a card suitable for a Spring Birthday or Mother's Day or even just for a special Aunt or friend and this is what i came up with!

I used some Nitwits papers that were a freebie with a magazine, yellow ribbon, flex/promarkers, stickles and the flowers were actually some stickers that i used as a template to make more then i coloured them, layered them up and glittered them up a bit.

Bit dull & grey here this morning but maybe it will brighten up later.

I'm planning a craft day today but first i have a card to share.You might remember the Baby's 1st Christmas card i did last year? Well, that gorgeous baby is now 1 year old! Doesn't time fly?

As with yesterday's card, they wanted fairly plain & flat with no huge embellies, but balloons if possible!!!

Anyone for hockey?

Morning friends, what a gorgeous weekend we've had!

It's been so nice to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. We're trying to make a couple of rabbit runs but have no idea where to start so if anyone has any ideas i'd be ever so grateful. Would permanent runs be best or should we go with portable type ones......help!!!!

Anyway, the card i'm sharing today is for a 12 year old boy......wants no fuss or fancy, loves sport but no football oh, and doesn't want his age on it - says that's for little boys lol!

Karate tag

Good evening, what a gorgeous day it's been here!

I love the promise of Spring, especially when it's just warm enough that you don't need a coat!

Just a quick post to share this tag i made to compliment a Birthday card i made using the

same image in February.

I cut out 2 tag shapes and embossed the white one with a Papermania brick wall embossing folder.

I used the fab Karate Ian digi from the Greetings farm, coloured with flex/promarkers. I cut him out and placed him on the white tag, added some printed words - my karate mad Son said these are words that anyone who does karate would know - a few black pearls to finish, then tied the 2 tags together with some chequered ribbon!

Music saves my soul Saturdayl!

Morning friends, it's a beautiful day here, lovely blue skies and enough of a

breeze to dry the washing!!

I've not joined in with Music saves my soul for ages - Saturday's seem to pass me by in the blink of an eye so

I've decided to Take Back Saturday!!I'm planning on Saturday morning crafting with Rebecca then American Idol in afternoon -we do like that programme and this week it's the first of the live shows!

So my song choice for today is definitely one of my favourite EVER songs and it's by the fantastic Avenged Sevenfold, a tribute to their drummer, the Rev and it's called So Far Away.

ATC Love!

Good morning, hope you're all well!
A big Hello and Welcome to my new followers - thank you for joining me on this wonderful craft journey, I hope you find something here to inspire you and I will be visiting you all back very soon!
Today I wanted to share the ATC's I made for the February swap over at
Ali's ATC swap stop. The idea is that you make four ATC's fitting to the monthly theme, we all send them to the lovely host, Ali then she will send you a selection of four back!
The theme this time was LOVE and I used the fab Tin Rose digi from Pollycraft.
I used this image for a Valentine's card this year and loved it so much I just had to use it again!
I shrunk him down to fit the ATC size (2.5 x 3.5), coloured him with flexmarkers, trimmed with gingham ribbon, added pearls and mounted onto red card!
Can't wait to receive my swaps!

WOYWW week 144

What a difference a day makes!!!

No, not the weather - my desk - although the same could definitely be said for the weather!

Yesterday my desk was perfectly tidy - but then I unpacked the craft shopping I did on Monday!

As all you regulars will know, Wednesday is the day for all us nosy parkers to get their fill of other people's

craft desks! WOYWW , hosted by Julia over at the Stamping Ground, is THE place to be on a Wednesday.

So what's on my desk today! All the usual, pens, scissors, glue etc., and then some lovely bits I bought with some Birthday money! I got the gorgeous fence die, a tree die, an embossing folder, some card and a scrapbook kit that contains 12 sheets of gorgeous girly papers - a real bargain at £1.99 - and I've still got some money left!!!

On the shelf above my desk is my ribbon - I've tried many ways of storing ribbon but none have really worked for me- until now! I bought a basket full of jars, the type you would use for pickles, etc., and now store all my odd bits colour by colour!

The reels are stored easily on a rail hanging between the shelf brackets.
Now I've just got 3 more drawers full of ribbon left to sort out - think I'm addicted!

So that's it from me, no works in progress today but I do plan on having a craft day as I have to wait in all day for delivery of new beds so watch this space!

Miss Magnolia (again)!

Good morning my blog friends and a big hello & welcome to my new followers!

Thank you too for all the lovely Birthday wishes - can't believe i'm 47 today!

And my gorgeous 3rd Son is 18 tomorrow - Happy Days!!

So, the card i want to share today was meant to be for a friend - until i checked my pre-blog photos and realised the card i made her last year was made using exactly the same image!!!!

Good job i checked, too, as she's also a card maker and keeps all the cards i make for her so she would have known for sure!

Oh well, back to the drawing board, i guess!

I do like this card, though, so it's no hardship looking at it for a while!

I stamped the two Magnolia images, coloured them with pro/flexmarkers then cut out Tilda and placed her in window. I used brown card and the paper is some i found when having a sort out - i've no idea what it is but it's so beautiful, embossed and glittered in lovely shades of orange/peach and brown - and it's double sided!

The flowers were all cream - i coloured odd ones with flexmarkers to match! The lace was just a scrap and the wooden flower is from a prize from Lisa -thank you, Lisa! A few pearls also coloured with flexmarkers, a computer generated sentiment and that's it!

Whats on your workdesk Wednesday? week 142

Good morning, WOYWW'ers!

Is it me or is it getting just a bit warmer? We haven't needed to put the heating on this morning.

Can you believe it's Wednesday again? Time to stand up and admit "My name's Jo and I like looking at other people's desk's!" Sound familiar? Then pop over to the leader of this fine group, Julia, and link up for your weekly dose of desk's! I don't play as often as I would like but this week sees me up bright & early & raring to go!

The only thing you can see on my desk today is my finished homemade promarker storage unit! Oh, and a little edge of my big shot up there at top left! My collection of promarkers is almost complete and now with the flexmarkers as well, I needed more storage.To be honest I couldn't really afford to buy one so thought I'd have a go at making my own - and I'm chuffed to bits with it! And you could also add to it if you wanted!

I've added a page at the top explaining how I made it!

Time for me to go and brave the housework now then maybe an hour's craft time if I'm, lucky!

Back to school for some of my brood today so hopefully some craft time heading my way!

Now i know that doesn't mean just black & white but that's what i chose to go with as soon as i saw this fab image - i just pictured gorgeous black leather ankle boots with a soft suede upper - heaven!

Morning all, hope you're all well.
Did you have a lovely weekend with lots of craft time?

Today i wanted to share with you my latest set of ATC's made for the swap

over at Ali's ATC swap stop - want to know more? Well, every month you make a set of 4 ATC's

to fit with the theme Ali sets each month - they can be all the same or all different - whatever you choose.

Send them to Ali before the end of the month and then you will get 4 ATC's back!

It's great, its something a bit different to cards and it's amazing how quick your collection grows!

And it's a fab way of using up all your scraps lol!

January's swap theme was "My way", the idea being to make your ATC's in your signature style!!

Hmmmm, i don't think i have a particular style - i just go with the flow usually so i decided to just open up my scrap box and see what happened - and these are the result!

Help!!!!

Just been catching up with you all and been reading about this Friends Connect thing.

Now i don't really understand all this stuff, Vicky and Lisa can explain it much better, but i think we're losing the followers gadget on our blogs :(

Then when i checked my email, someone else has said everyone on blogger/blogspot blogs won't be losing it!
At least, not yet!!!

So, i've followed in the footsteps of far more experienced bloggers than me, taken their advice and i've added the new Linky followers gadget or widget or whatever it's called.
I'd really hate to lose everybody so you would please follow me on the new linky and maybe get one yourself so i can follow you back.

I hope by doing this i've covered all bases cos i really don't want to lose you all so i'll be following everyone with the linky thing AND friends connect.

Hope this makes some kind of sense!

Waste not Wednesday on Thursday! - week 6

Good morning everyone, hope you're all well & warm, and a big thank you and welcome to my new followers - hope you find something here to inspire you!

Another chilly day here with more snow forecast in the next couple days and it's sooo cold -

I think the warmest room in the house yesterday was my craft room (honest!).

So, today's card is the last of the Valentine's cards i need to make and i've

gone for my fav scallop circle easel card with some gorgeous bunting, red card, spotty paper, a hand rolled flower, some punched hearts, spotty ribbon, a few pearls and a fab digi image from Pollycraft (sorry don't know what its called) coloured with flexmarkers. Everything used is from my stash and i'm going to link up over at Lisa's (Wishcraft) Waste not Wednesday - a fab challenge to use up all those un-inked stamps and un-printed digis! It's amazing - and slightly scary - to see just how much unused stash you actually have!

Lexi's Creations - DT card - Be mine!

Good morning everyone! Are you all well? I hope so.
Well, as forecast, just after 3pm on Sat it started to snow and when i went to bed about 11ish it was still snowing! It looks so pretty outside and strangely it feels warmer than it has the last few days!!

Today it's time for a new challenge over at Lexi's Creations and this week

the theme is "LOVE/VALENTINE"

You really will be spoilt for choice as all the images are FAB!

For my card i chose the cute "Be Mine" bear coloured with flex/promarkers.

I used a 6 x 6 card blank, layered up red card and red spotty paper, i cut a red scalloped square and layered bear on top, tied red ribbon across the middle and added a couple of punched hearts

and some pearls.

Morning everyone, hope you are all well.
A big welcome and thank you to my new followers-I really appreciate you taking the time to call and love visiting you back!

Does anyone know what happened to January?

Oh, well, won't be long 'til the days are a bit longer and a bit brighter.

And hopefully my pics will be loads better!!

So, here we are in February and it's time for another challenge over at
Fairytale Challenge Blog and this time the theme is "LOVE LOVE LOVE"!
You can make cards, scrapbook pages, bookmarks, anything you like as long
as it fits the challenge theme.
You have 2 weeks to play and as usual, there'll be a fab prize on offer!
Sadly, this is my last challenge as part of the GDT, i've had a fab time and send big thanks
to Bianca& the team for having me - it's been great and now i'll be able to enter the challenges lol!
Don't forget to check out the team's fab creations - you're sure to be inspired!

So, here's another Valentine's, this one for a friend to give to his other half!
I'm quite pleased with how it turned out so hope they like it, too!
I started with a 6 x 6 card blank, layered up red card and spotty paper, then wrapped black check and red ribbon round a strip of card with a punched edge. The little heart charm is actually a punched heart using a tiny scrap of red card! The flourish is a die cut, the flowers are handmade and the leafs are punched!

Poor Edwin hasn't been inked before and is coloured with promarkers and the balloon
is actually shiny although you
can't really tell what with the bad light and my poor photography skills lol!!

I made it!

My planned craft day went out the window about 9.15 this morning when school phoned to say my Rebecca needed to come home - she stayed home Monday not well, went to school yesterday, then home today - worst thing is she's due to go on a school trip tomorrow but it's about an hour's drive away so really don't think she'll be up to it.

Rebecca's asleep now so just time for me to join in and link up with WOYWW.

It's amazing how quickly you're drawn in - that weekly peek into everyone else's

crafty space becomes addictive very quickly lol! Hop over to Julia's at the Stamping Ground to join in - i promise you'll be hooked!

So, what's on my desk today? See all those crafty bits spread out on the white sheet?

There's a stamp, FAB chipboard flowers, gems, wooden flowers, buttons, butterflies, wooden shapes, pegs, card candy, metal embellie, some gorgeous doillies and some gingham!! And a beautiful card!

Morning all, hope you are well.

A big hello, welcome and thank you to my new followers, i so appreciate you calling!

Another miserable, damp, dark day here but still no snow!!!

Today's card was to be a clean & simple look but i think i ended up with too many layers!!

My son decided he wanted a red & white Valentine's card but nothing too fancy, just a white card with a red heart - then he saw the spotty paper that's so old i'd forgotten i had it and decided he wanted some of that on, then he decided he wanted 2 hearts(both die cut), oh, and don't forget a piece of ribbon, he said!! Oh yes, that's lovely, he said but i like it when you thread ribbon through a button, too!!

So this is what he ended up with!!

Waste not Wednesday on Friday!!

Good afternoon my crafty friends, hope you're all keeping well and warm!

Now I know it's Friday but I just wanted to share the card I made for Waste not Wednesday's over on Lisa's blog (Wishcraft). It's a great idea Lisa had to encourage us to use our unused stamps and digis, hop on over and link up - then go peek at all the others!!

This week I used a fab digi from Pollycraft, flex/promarkers, foiled paper from DCWV, furry twine, pearls and punched flowers!

Whilst rooting through my papers I found a 12 x 12 paper stack called Butterflies & Blossoms from DCWV!

Can't believe I'd not used a single piece - so I spent a lovely afternoon making some bunting with it for Rebecca's bedroom!

Well, that's another week almost over - can you believe it's February next week???

What's on your workdesk Wednesday #138

Morning all, can't believe how fast Wednesday comes around and the chance to join in with Julia over at the Stamping ground - go check it out, its FAB! - there's nothing better than grabbing a coffee and settling down for a good old nosey into other people's work spaces!

So, what's on my workdesk today? A mess, that's what!

Tubs of tools, bow maker, ink, tape runner, a lid from a tube of glue that i spent ages looking for!!!

There's 3 stamps i've just inked for the 1st time, a few stamped images.

Some die cut toppers that i've recycled from shop bought cards i received and hope to use soon!

Just sneaking in top left you might just see the edge of a DT card - coming soon!

Glasses - i spend more time looking for these than i do wearing them lol!

A bag of gold coloured hooks??? Why, when or how these ended up on my desk i have

absolutely no idea!!

Then there's some wooden letters and some decopatch paper -

this was a Christmas pressie for my daughter, Rebecca (Bex) - we were going to start it at the weekend but have decided to save it for half term.

Right in the middle there's a teeny weeny pinky purple coloured crocheted flower handmade by me!!

ATC's on the brain!

Morning you crafty bloggers and a big welcome to my new followers!

Hope you are all well and looking forward to a lovely weekend whatever you're doing!

I'm going to have a craft weekend with my lovely daughter, Rebecca, and try and get

caught up with a few bits and bobs!

Just wanted to share this ATC with you - ATC's are all i can think about at the min - good job they are fairly quick and easy to make lol!

I've used scraps for this and just layered some white card and zebra print paper, printed out this fab mannequin image (not sure where i got this image) roughly cut it out and glued it down. Trimmed ATC with some bright pink ribbon and added pink bow to dress!

Was going to somehow add this onto a card but i think Rebecca has claimed it!

GDT card for Fairytale challenge blog

Morning everyone and happy Friday!!

It's nearly the weekend and i'm so looking forward to a lie-in!

Think this is the 1st weekend for ages that we've got nothing planned so we're gonna stay indoors, have some nice food and just chill - and i might just manage a little craft time with my Rebecca!

So, today's card is my GDT card for Fairytale Challenge blog and this fortnight the theme

is "At the Movies". We can't wait to see what you come up with - if you're stuck for ideas why not hop on over and check out the team's fab creations. There's a fab prize up for grabs, too!
As usual, you have 2 weeks to play so come on, it's worth a shot and you never know, you just might be the lucky winner!!

For my card i chose the movie "Grease". I went with an easel card, matted and layered some red & black card and layered up some fab rock & roll decoupage. I highlighted the top layer with promarkers, punched a border on some black card, added some red ribbon and silver peel off music notes and that's it!
Everything i used for this card came from my stash - i promised myself i would make at least 1 item per week using only stash - well this week i've made 2!!

Beer Monster!

Hi bloggers! Hope you all well.

Oooo it's cold, wet and dark here today, got the supermarket shop done then had a play

in my nice warm craft room!

Today's card is made using a Pollycraft image - Beer Monster - isn't he fab?
And he's just perfect for my friend's other half who's going to be 50 next week!
He's been living in my laptop for ages just waiting for the right time - then along came
Lisa's and Waste not Wednesdays.
The idea is to use your poor un inked stamped and un printed digis, pop along to Lisa's and link up then you can go check out all the other entries!

I've coloured him with flex/promarkers and matted and layered him onto lime green card,
3 pieces of card candy and he's good to go!

My 1st Sparkles DT card!

Good morning everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend so far!
Oooooh it's so cold and frosty here don't think i'll be going far today

Can't believe we're already halfway through January already!

It's been a great 1st month of the year for me with lots of exciting things happening -

there's been lots of 1st's and today there's another one

- my 1st DT card for Sparkles! And to make it even more special - my gorgeous daughter, Rebecca

is coming on board, too and she's only 9! How cool is that?

So, here's my card

The theme this month is "new crafting goodies" so hopefully you lucky crafters will have been spoilt

at Christmas and have lots of new things to play with! I chose to use a new digi image and new embossing board and made this card for one of my son's, Cam, who will be 18 next month - as you can guess he's karate mad lol!

Morning all, hope you're all well! It's a beautiful, sunny day here with lovely clear, blue skies

but there's a frost and it's sooooo cold!

Today's card is made using the lovely baking Tilda - i coloured this image ages ago but cut it too small so it's been sitting in box for ages just waiting to be used! When i saw this weeks sketch at Eat Sleep Stamp

i knew it would be perfect - thanks for the heads up, NanaConnie, it looks like a great blog and the sketch is fab! I also got the chance to use my new border punch from Santa!!

Hi everyone, hope you all feeling fine!! Another cold, dark day here so apologies for the dreadful pic but the light here is terrible! Anyways, i thought i'd take a leaf out of Lisa's (Wishcraft) book and link up to Waste not Wednesdays and try to use up some of the things i've stashed over the years. I'm ashamed to say there's probably enough stuff in my craft room to stock a small shop lol!! Now, i know Lisa said new stamps and digis in her post but i did check with her before i linked this! So, for this card i used the gorgeous Sugar and Spice papers and chipboard toppers collection - all brand new and unused! I love these papers and the hot spicy colours - and there's so much in the stack! Simple matting and layering, a piece of brown ribbon and a layered flower - done! And enough left for lots more lol!

Morning everyone, hope you are all well. Thankfully the wind here has died down, today we have frost and beautiful blue sky - but it's very cold. So, today's card is made using up bits and bobs from my stash - i never seem to get to the bottom of it so have decided to make a real big effort to use up some things! Morning friends, hope you all feeling good and not too stressed! Can't believe that after all these months of prep and anticipation it's almost time.........all we need now is some snow.......not too much, though, and the big fella in red will feel right at home!
So onto my card...... if you're kids are anything like mine there's always one that says "Muuuummm, can you make a card for so and so, please? and i need it now". Yup, that's my boy(s)! Luckily, this fortnight's challenge over at Fairy tale Challenge blog is "easy" so this card fit in perfect for my GDT card - i used 3 papers from Papermania, red card, gems, snowflake punch, and the eskimo was a die cut......i just coloured his suit red and added glitter, the sentiment is computer generated. It was definitely one of the quickest, easiest cards i've ever made and i'm real pleased with it. The challenge runs for 2 weeks and as usual, there some fab inspiration on show, so please do pop over, have a look and join in!
Well, i think this will be my last post for a few days so i'd just like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and lots of love and best wishes for the New Year!

I'm nearly ready - all cards are written, just few bits and bobs to wrap, GDT cards done and ready to post.........So, today's card is for sweet baby Mya......her 1st Christmas.......and isn't this digi just perfect? Image is from Pink Gem designs, coloured with promarkers and matted onto red card. I've used pink polka dot card, white lace, red ribbon, a giant snowflake, stickles, card candy and a few red gems.
Anyway, i said i had some good news...........last week i was honoured to be asked to join 2 design teams - Lexi's Creations and Sparkles Christmas Challenges! How lucky am I? Hello everyone, hope you are all well and keeping warm!! It's proper cold here now, it's blowing a gale and raining although we still haven't had any snow. Wouldn't it be lovely if it snowed on Christmas Eve? It's a magical time of year, isn't it, and for me, snow would be perfect! Oh well, we'll see soon enough lol. Anyway, today i wanted to share the ATC's i've made for Ali's ATC swap stop. I've been taking advice from The Crafty Elf and have visited Poundland where i found these gorgeous chipboard toppers! 6/8 in a pack for £1 - what a bargain!! I've used lime green card and layered on lime green snowflake paper, a piece of ribbon across the middle and then the topper! Oh and some sparkly gems in the middle of the snowflakes! Hope you like them!

Baby, it's cold outside!

Hi everyone, hope you all having a good weekend and keeping warm! It's proper cold here today and we had our first frost yesterday. Can't believe it's 3rd December already - have you all got your shopping done? No, me neither...........i think the best i can hope for this year is to get all pressies bought and wrapped before kiddos break up from school on Dec 16th! Wish me luck! So, today's card is my fav style - i love easel cards - especially scallop circle ones lol! I've "stickled" all around the circles and glittered the fur on the eskimo's clothes for a bit of extra bling and isn't that snowflake die cut just gorgeous?

Managed to get another Christmas card done today - not for me, though, this one was for somebody who knew exactly what they wanted and it had to be an easel card!!! That's my boy!!

Hiya everyone, still can't find my Christmas mojo so spent the afternoon watching Rebecca making a birthday card for her brother, Chris and a Christmas present for her brother, Cam, oh, and making a mess of my desk lol. Today's card is another birthday card for my son, Chris(can't believe he gonna be 15 on Tues!) - have to say I love all the Mo Manning digis - they perfect for teenage boys!! Apart from image everything is from my stash - does anyone know the make of the spotty paper i used? I love it and have a piece in brown as well. I think it came in a pack ............ mainly browns and blues, there's some with "boy" related words on and maybe some with stripes too. Would love any suggestions as would love some more. Scrappy Birthday!

Evening everybody. Hope you all feeling fine and keeping warm. Today's card was for a friend who thought she'd like to try scrapbooking and guess what? Yes, you guessed, she's addicted.............to card making as well, now lol! I thought this decoupage girl would be ideal...................isn't she cute? I layered her up and put her on blue gingham paper and put tiny bows in her hair! I die cut the flower button and ran it through a polka dot embossing folder and threaded with ribbon, used a peel off on an oval die cut and threaded with ribbon, teeny blue gem for bit of bling! I glittered the yellow paper too although it doesn't show up too well, does it?

Evening everyone, just thought i'd squeeze another card in seeing as i'm watching X Factor on plus 1. This card was made using up bits and bobs from my stash ................never seem to get to the bottom of it though lol. I've never used lime green for Christmas but quite like it - think it looks real fresh and clean. Was gonna try for clean and simple but never seem to get it right - just had to bling it up a bit with the little gems in the middle of the snowflakes!!

Hello everybody, hope you're all well and keeping warm! Feeling much better today and so decided to make a card for my crafting friends' daughter who is expecting a baby! Decided to go with pink and blue as she doesn't know if its a boy or girl. Love how it all came together ......my fav style of card........again lol! And couldn't resist the cheeky sentiment!!!!! I've used scallop circle die to make my fav easel card and layered gingham paper on each scallop. The image is Lola Rose from Pink Petticoat, coloured with promarkers and is matted and layered with pink and blue card. All but the image is from my stash - isn't it amazing what you can find in your stash? If you're anything like me you'll have boxes and boxes of stuff that you just can't bear to part with!

Just when i thought i was getting over my cold.........wham!........it hit me real hard..........again!..........but much worse than before. I've spent the last 3 days snuggled on sofa but hopefully that's the end of it now! Today's card is another go at clean & simple but not quite sure i've got the hang of it yet lol. It's just simple matting and layering with brown ribbon and sentiment.

Morning everyone, first i'd just like to say thanks to you all for your good wishes - i think i'm starting to feel better today! Unfortunately, no 1 son feels poorly today! A big welcome to my new followers too - i'm going to visit you all back this weekend. Today's card is Luv a latte from Sugar Nellie and came to me in my candy win from Debbie (thanks again, Debbie) and i've coloured her in with promarkers. Thought i'd enter her in the Sugar bowl challenge - sketch with optional theme of clean & simple - is there too much white space? Maybe i should have used a smaller card? I've joined with Ali's ATC swap and I did manage to get them finished (you might just make them out in the middle of my desk) but can I find the little wallet things I bought to put them in??........no, they're nowhere to be found...........never mind, I'll just have to order some more!
Can't believe how tidy it looks....there's the usual bits and bobs, my lovely button jars, my promarker list, pen pots, to do pile.......ooooo and do you see that big brown box? That's some candy I won....it's fab.....will be getting stuck into that when I feel better!

Spooked!

Hiya, oooooh it's proper cold here today, hope you're all keeping warm! That dreaded Mr Cold&Flu has invited himself to stay at mine - 2 of my boys, my daughter and myself all full of it! Oh well, i'm sure we''ll soon be rid of him!! Anyways, today's post is my first ever ATC! It's defo not as easy as it looks.......i wasn't sure if the idea was to keep them as flat as possible or not? Oh well - here goes........first i cut 100's (yes 100's! )of strands of grey embroidery thread to make the cobweb.....i just twisted the strands a bit to make them look a bit tatty and stuck them criss cross fashion across the ATC. The tombstone is cut using a sizzix die, i've coloured it with promarkers and creased it a bit to make it look a bit tatty, RIP was also cut using a sizzix alphabet, the mummy is a dig image from squiggle stamps and is coloured with promarkers. Hope you like it - let me know what you think and don't forget i have candy (see sidebar)!!

Sweet treat

Oh, am i glad its Friday! Its been a strange week - weather been funny, kids been good (that strange in itself lol) and my daughter took over my craft room! Anyway, gonna get all jobs done today, yes, even the ironing lol, then me and Bex are gonna have ourselves a crafty weekend - and there's Strictly and X Factor too - what more could a girl want?
Today's card is one my son asked me to make for one of his college friends who loves cupcakes (don't we all) and this is what I came up with.
Recipe: To start I used a 6 in square scalloped card blank, then I used a collection of papers and die cuts called The little cake shoppe and covered card blank with red card then layered with the strawberry paper. I used my sizzix scallop circle die and a plain circle die, place one on top of the other and then assembled the die cut cupcake just off centre. The little strawberry die cuts were extras in the pack, the little tabs were just scraps of card I used for decoration and the ribbon and pearls were from my stash.

Snowy birdhouse

Hi, well, i've finally got my craft desk back (at least for today lol). My daughter is at school til 3 so i have a few hours to play then she said she " NEEDS my craft room cos she has a blog now" - who am i to argue with that- at least it keeps her busy and away from the tv! Anyway, today's card was a real challenge as it was the only thing i had with a robin on - how sad is that? Think i feel a shopping trip coming on! The inside is decorated to compliment the front, too.
Recipe:
Image was Lili of the valley, i've glittered it and matted and layered it with red, white and gingham card, snow flakes are punched and then i just tied a plain red ribbon round gingham layer. Everything is unused from last year's Christmas stash!

Rebecca's Christmas Tree

Hiya, today i spent the afternoon crafting with my gorgeous girl Rebecca age 9! She wanted to get started on her Christmas cards so decided to raid my stash - I suppose that's what mum's stash is for, isnt it???? Anyway, she decided to make a Christmas tree shaped card and this is how she did it ( in her own words lol): First me and mum drew a Christmas tree shape then we cut it out and put it on a folded side of a card and drew round it and then cut it out so we had a proper card that stands up like a normal card.

Then i used some of mum's black and white paper and punched out LOADS
of love hearts.

Then i stuck the love hearts upside down on the Christmas tree card one row black and one row white until the card was covered up. Then i put a silver star on top of the tree and coloured the bucket in with mum's black promarker and then tied a ribbon round it.
This is what it looked like in the end i hope you like it and i think i am going to make some more in different colours for my brothers for Christmas.

Just a quick card today - didn't quite go as planned but there you go - it happens sometimes doesn't it?
Recipe: I know the large snowflake is from a szzix die and the small one is from a punch but i have no idea where the rest of the ingredients are from - they were all in my stash lol!

Frosty the Snowman

Hiya, ooohhh it feels like winter today, can't believe just a week ago it felt hotter than in the summer! Shouldn't complain really cos it's a great excuse to stay indoors and craft all weekend lol. Maybe it's the cold weather that inspired me to make this Christmas card...........I think this could be it now..........the Christmas crafting has begun!! Frosty and Tilda are coloured with promarkers, the snowflakes are cut with a die from Sizzix, the flowers are punched, the papers are from Nitwits, sentiment is computer generated, i've used ultra fine glitter, lace and pearls from my stash. All the edges have been "stickled"! I've decorated the inside very similar to the front, too.

Hiya, first i want to say a big thank you to my 2 new followers! I love hopping around blogland seeing all your fab creations and it's great to know some of you like to see mine too! Anyway, one of my blog friends, Shirl, has made a fantastic box card and also has blog candy - defo worth a visit as she has a great blog.

Today's card is made using a cute Sugar Nellie stamp, is coloured with Promarkers-cool aqua, pale pink, blue pearl, pastel beige, amethyst, lilac, satin and cool grey. Stamped sentiment is Lili of the valley and ribbons and pearls are all from my stash.

Hiya, how i love this fairy stamp, she was a present for my birthday back in February and i used her for one of the first cards I showed on my blog!

Hiya, can't believe it's Tuesday evening already - doesn't time fly when you're busy crafting? Anyways, as we all know, October is Breast Cancer awareness month, find out what's going on here and please, please try and get involved. This is a little card I made with a little extra - the pink ribbon can be taken off the card and attached on your coat or jacket (there's a teeny weeny safety pin hidden on the back). I've used Magnolia Tilda image coloured with promarkers, flowers were all punched, sentiment computer generated, everything was from my stash!!

Button Tree

Can't believe we're into October now but i do love this time of year and cosy Saturday nights watching X Factor and Strictly come Dancing (Yippee!!). I'm really struggling with Christmas projects this year - must be this TOO hot weather we're having lol - so have been busy checking out all your blogs for some much needed inspiration..........and you haven't let me down!! I thought i'd try my hand at a black card for a change and this is what i came up with. I've used Tatty Button xmas tree, stamp in black and then heat embossed it with a clear embossing powder. I punched a scallop border and added sparkly gems then matted onto white card and tied a black ribbon on. The black flowers are all handmade using a Marianne creatables flower die, then dipped them in glitter (which doesnt show up to well does it lol) and matted and layered onto black and white card.

Boys Rock

Do boys rock?.....Yeah course they do.....well, i have to say that cos i have 5 of em!!!! We're having another real hot day here and seeing as i'm one of them that doesn't like the heat thought i'd be much better off in my craft room lol...any excuse!! This is one of my favourite images - its from The Greetings Farm (so is sentiment). he's coloured with promarkers and matted and layered onto blue patterned paper from my stash and edges have all been inked. I love easel cards and this one was made using my large scallop circle sizzix die. The stars have all been die cut using framelits, again from sizzix. The string, button and guitar charm are from my stash too.

Oh Baby

What gorgeous weather we're having in ,my neck of the woods.....maybe i should be tidying the gardens instead of playing in my craft room..........or maybe not lol. Just heard some great news - a friend of mine is going to become a grandma for the 2nd time -
so i started digging my stash for baby treasures and look what i found - i'd forgotten all about these gorgeous die-cuts from Lili of the valley, i've matted and layered it onto a plain circle then onto a scallop circle cut with my sizzix die. The gingham card and pink card came from my stash, the patterned paper is from Pink petticoat, the sentiment is computer generated, flower button is also sizzix, ribbon and button are from my stash. The teeny love hearts are glittered too but it doesn't show up too well. I loved making this card - think i might have to make one in blue too!

Spiderman!!!

Happy Saturday, bloggers, hope you all enjoying the weekend.....we got sunshine here for a change!!!
Today's card is one i made for one of my boys for his 18th birthday.....he's a proper Spiderman nut.

Thought i'd make an easel card for a change - it was sooo quick and easy to do. It's just a silver die cut frame from Sizzix matted and layered with some silver web embossed card and some black card. There's ribbon threaded and knotted through the four corners, the spiderman picture i have no idea where i got it! The pearls, birthday peel offs and teeny spider ( love his googly eyes ) are from my stash.

Spot & stripe paper - Papermania Noel range has been matted and layered with some red card from my stash, the green swirl die cut is from sizzix, the cardstock Christmas tree is from Papermania , paper is edged in crystal stickles and ribbon tab and gems are from my stash.

Today i thought i'd make a card with my new Tatty Button Christmas Tree stamp. The buttons have been coloured with a lilac promarker, i've used everything else from my stash, i love those little metal bells!

Oh I love Saturdays,I get to join in Music saves my soul over at Marcea's crafting corner. Pop over and have a look, there's some great song choices and its a great trip down memory lane lol. Today also see's the start of the junior rugby league season so i get to watch 2 of my gorgeous boys play for their team - Yorkshire Coast Titans.
