Sparkles Christmas - For a Child

Morning crafty friends......hope you're all well.....and a happy October 1st

to you all! Well, this year sure is flying past & to help you on your

way we have a new challenge over at Sparkles Christmas. Our lovely

Helen chose the theme of  FOR A CHILD. We're sponsored by the fab

offering either 2 dies or 1 stamp/1 die.

As usual, any & all crafty makes are welcome just so long as you stick to

the theme & if you're low on inspiration you can pop over to the main

I needed to keep my card nice & flat for posting & not too fussy......and I've

just noticed that sentiment is a bit wonky lol.....I'll have to straighten that!!!

A little bit vintage

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!

Seems ages since I last posted as I've not been well but I'm here now

and feeling ok.......even managed some crafty time at my desk yesterday!

 I have a Christmas card to share today..........some faux stitching, some

decoupage, inky & distressed edges, die cuts, ribbon, pearls......lots

of different bit & pieces & my favourite blues.

Morning lovelies......hope you're all well & have something nice planned

for the weekend. We're staying home, planning some nice crafty time

and then gonna prepare something nice for tea.....oh, what an exciting life

I lead lol! I need to make a few not-too-fussy Christmas cards this

year so decided to go with 5x5 card blanks and an art pad (or 2) from

LOTV, they're so easy to use & packed full of the sweetest images.

My paper is from Bearly Mine.....I don't often use digi papers but wow,

these are FAB, my favourite blues for Christmas & I'll definitely be

using them again.

Shine like a Star!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!

It's a cold, damp, foggy day here on the Yorkshire Coast so I don't think I'll be 

going too far.....any excuse to have a play at my desk lol.

So today I have a little 'just because' card to share, love this image & am

ashamed to say it's the first time I've used her......but it won't be the last!

I coloured with Copics, the paper & ribbon are from my scrap box, gems from

stash & sentiment is LOTV.

Morning lovelies........hope you're all well, sending hugs to those that want them!

Well, Saturday's shopping trip was a success, you wouldn't believe how hard it

is to find jeans for my 6 foot 3 17 year old son, we got there in the end....

......cost a small fortune though.....and then of course, I had to have a little trip

to our 2 craft shops lol!

As you might know, I've recently been having a play at mixed media....

.....and I'm loving it! Not been brave enough to show all my makes yet but this

one I'm quite pleased with. I started with a blank 5x7 canvas, gave it 2 coats of

 gesso then a coat of mica pearls....while that was still wet I dabbed it all

over with some scrunched up kitchen roll. Next I added some torn pieces of

paper & then to get the circles I used a bottle lid dipped in paint & dabbed all

over in random patterns. I made the heart with some air dry clay then when

 dry coloured with a Copic, added a thick layer of clear crackle paint. Once that

 was dry I dabbed a dark brown ink pad over the surface then wrapped the

 heart in some wire I pinched from my jewellery making supplies! Wings, key

 & cogs are all die cuts, I painted the wings & the key with mica paints, curled

 the wings slightly to give some  movement & then hung the key to the heart

 with another piece of jewellery wire. Lastly, I added the cogs, some gems,

 some clear dew drops & the words that I cut with my Silhouette!

Morning crafters......hope you're all well!

Today I'm sharing my Dt make for the latest challenge over at Sparkles where

the theme is THINGS WITH WINGS. A nice easy challenge, I think as us crafters

seem to love all things fairy, butterfly & bird! I seem to be making lots of

flatter, thinner cards recently & this one is no exception.....image & sentiment

are both from LOTV, gingham paper is from my scrap drawer & gems

& ribbon from my stash. 

We have the fabulous & very generous Marianne Designs sponsoring us this

month.....the prize is either 2 dies or 1 die/1 stamp so very definitely worth your

Christmas is a season of the heart!

Morning crafty bloggers......hope you're all well!

Today I'm sharing a finally-I-got-it-finished piece of cross stitch!

Yup, I finally got round to finishing up some more cross stitch...so watch

this space lol! Most pieces are done with the stitching, just need to decide

whether they're going in a frame, on a cushion, on a book.....any other

ideas most welcome! Love the soft, folksy feel to this piece, IRL the colours

are gorgeous....think it might end up in a painted frame on my mantel

 for Christmas.

Rightio, my friends, I better go get my face on.......off clothes shopping

with my almost 18 year old son, can't decide if I'm looking forward

to it.......or dreading it lol! Thanks for calling & whatever you're up to
