Challenge #7 - Summer Fun!

Good morning crafty friends, hope you're all well.
I can't believe we're about to start the 7th challenge.....doesn't time
fly when you're having fun.....and I sure am having fun! I thank you all
so much for taking the time to join in with my challenges.
So, this time the theme is going to be......
SUMMER FUN

Now I've got to be honest......I don't enjoy Summer & especially the awful
heat we've been having......but I do love the seaside & water!
But looking through my stash I really struggled with my make for this
challenge & in the end went with my favourite lots of layers, a stamped
verse & some die cuts!

This  month I'm so chuffed to have the lovely Jane from Onions & Paper
joining me as Guest Designer

I live in Fleet, Hampshire (UK) and am retired from running my own small business. I have a gardening mad husband, two daughters and four grandchildren, all of whom love crafting with me. I've been a crafter since my grandma taught me to crochet when I was a tiny tot, and have worked my way through crochet, hand and machine knitting, cross stitch, embroidery and dressmaking before getting bitten by the papercrafting bug about 20 years ago. Now, of course, I'm a card-carrying addict!

and here's Jane's make.......

a beautiful beach scene, I wish I could stamp like that....

......and a fabulous fold too
Thanks so much for joining me this month Jane....hope you can join me too!

Rules
1 - You must follow the theme set
2 - One entry, new makes only
3 - You must be a follower of this blog
4 - Please link your entry post back to this blog

So whether your style is frilly & fancy, CAS,or even grungy & gritty you
can enter your make.....and as usual, there'll be a surprise prize for the
lucky winner. And if you fancy joining me as a guest designer then just add
GD after your name!

Good luck!
xx

p.s - pop back tomorrow to find out who won last month's challenge!

Happy Christmas!

Hey crafters, hope you're all well.
Well, who'd have thought it? A week ago I was all Christmas-sed (is that even a word?)
out after  Christmas in July......and here I am making Christmas things again.....the ideas
just keep on coming so I'm going with it while I can!
Today's make is another card topper.....simple matting and layering in kraft & cream,
the sweet deer & Christmas tree die cuts finished with a stamped sentiment &
some faux gems....quick & easy but super sweet.
So we're heading into the last Bank Holiday weekend before Christmas and what
do you know.......it's too blooming hot lol! I bet all you sun worshippers are
chuffed to bits but me? I'll be hiding away in my craft room probably making
Christmas things.
Rightio, better get a move on......my little Asher bear is on his way.....thanks for
calling & for any comments you might leave....have a lovely weekend.

Birthday Bear

Hi lovelies, hope you're all well.
Another dull-ish day here, a nice breeze blowing......I'm hoping we don't have
the predicted hot Bank Holiday weekend....mind you, if we do then it's the
perfect excuse for me to hideaway in the craft room!
Today's make is using a topper from the Hunkydory Topper Decks....look at
those little kitties, how could I resist? A delve into the scrap box and Ifound
the perfect papers to compliment it & make a bow.....a sentiment and a
pearl to finish....job done!
Rightio, lots to do today so I'll thank you for popping in & I'll see you tomorrow.

Stars

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well.
I recently bought the 'Happy You' paper pad by Dovecraft, a beautiful mix of
patterned, foiled & glitter papers......very pretty & girly in tones of peach & rose
gold with a little grey for good measure! I have only used it once & made a typical
pretty, girly card but decided I'd try using the grey sheet to make a card for a male.
The patterned paper (after cutting an aperture) I matted onto silve mirri & then
onto a black base. I stamped the sentiment then added a selection of die cut stars
finishing with some faux gems. I know not all papers will work for male &
female but I think this one sure will.....what do you think?

Don't forget, my SUMMER FUN challenge is here.

Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow.

It's A Bug's Life with Crafty Cardmakers!

Hey lovelies, hope you're all well.
We're back from our Summer break over at Crafty Cardmakers and we have a
new challenge for you......A BUG'S LIFE!
Our lovely Lin is hosting this time & she would love to see bugs/insects on your
makes........preferably as a focal point & not just stuck in a corner lol!
As usual, any & all makes are welcome, you can enter up to 15 challenges
(including ours) and you have 2 weeks to play.......and if you're low on
inspiration then why not pop on over to the main challenge blog where you'll
find some gorgeous makes from the Design Team.
I made a card topper this time.....lots of distressed paper layers, some Tim
Holtz chit chat stickers......and that beautiful layered butterfly......all on
a black card base which unfortunately, you can't see as I placed it onto a
black background to take the photo!!
Rightio, better get a move on if I want some crafty time later.....thanks for
calling & for any comments you might leave.....see you tomorrow!

Just for You Shaker

Hello! It's been a while.....well, maybe a good week or so, I think Christmas
in July fair wore me out. Still, I have a nice stack of Christmas makes.
Today though, I have a shaker card to share......something very different for me
as I think I've only ever made one or two. About a month ago I had a little crafty
shopping spree & found this card in kit form.......for the price of 50 pence!!
There was only one  left so I just had to buy it. So easy to put together.....simple
decoupage layers, glitter for the shaker part, lots of tags to choose from &
some gorgeous papers ....best of all though was the quality......soooooo good.
Rightio, heading off to the craft room, thanks for calling.....see you tomorrow.
Don't forget, my SUMMER FUN challenge is here.

Washi Wednesday - August 2019

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well.

Oh my, these weeks are rolling past so fast.....and as it's the 1st Wednesday
of the month it's time for another Washi Wednesday!
It's time to dig out those Washi tapes & start using them instead of leaving
them in a drawer & just looking at them occasionally!
I've got a two for one this time, super quick & easy, suitable for any
occasion......and I love them! Here's how I made them......
card 1.....
1 - cut base card to required size
2- cover base card with Washi tape of choice
3 - arrange dies of choice to cut apertures
4 - stamp sentiments in apertures
5 - mount onto card blank of choice

card 2......
1 - take a 4x4 card blank
2 - add the die cut pieces from 1st card & arrange on card blank
3 - add stamped sentiment of your choice

So there you have it......what do you think?
Will you have a go? I'd love to see anything you might make so just
leave me a comment so's I can come visit you.

Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow.
