Hi crafty friends......hope you're all well & warm!

so windy and freezing cold today!
Today I have  a Christmas card to share......just in time to join in with Scrappy Mo's Rudolph
Day's challenge, you can find all details here.
I used papers & topper from Craftwork cards, the chalkboard collection......some silver mirri, a couple die cut snowflakes, a couple banners & finished with some gems.
Love this paper collection & will definitely be making more as I do like adding a bit of tartan to my Christmas cards.......must be my Scottish roots lol!

Happy Birthday with Crafty Cardmakers!

Hi crafty friends.......happy Monday, hope you're all fighting fit & raring to go!
We have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Cardmakers today & the theme is a nice,
 easy one................HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
I chose to make a card for a boy using a decoupage sheet from the Whiz Kidz collection.
There's 4 layers of decoupage & the only extra I used was a piece of black card for the base
& the frame! I had a couple of elements left so made a little gift tag to go with the card.

As usual, we're a just for fun challenge & if you pop over to the main blog you'll find lots
of gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team....hope to see you there!
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave.......and don't forget....I have a little

Leave me a comment if you do & if there's more than one of you I'll draw a name out next don't have to be a follower but I'd love it if you were......and if you want to pop

Something for the Weekend!

Hi crafty friends......welcome to 'Something for the Weekend'!
So what do you think to this weather then? Can't believe we're having a run of sunshine.......
......let's hope it lasts a good while longer!
For this weekend I thought I'd share a pic of one of our cats.....this handsome boy is Tom, he's a year old, all grey and he's huge! He's a strange one though, is our Tom....he doesn't like
cuddles but he loves to have the side of his head rubbed lol..........and he's loud......very loud! He's always 1st to the food bowl......and the last to come in!
Rightio, it's a crafty afternoon for me......hope you manage some time doing what you love!
Thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

Paper Frosting Friday #3

Hi crafty friends......hope you're all well!
Oh my, you wouldn't believe how hot it is here today.......not good for me but I hope it continues for those of you who enjoy the heat! I'll be locked away in my craft room with the fan blowing so it's a win win situation all round lol!
Anyway, welcome to Paper Frosting Friday attempt to use up lots of bits of stash to make my own embellishments for cards, scrapbooks etc., ......and I decided to call them Paper
Frosting! This week I made some paper flowers......the paper I used must be one of the oldest packs I have in my's a pearlised paper in pinks blues, greens & yellows & looks so much prettier IRL. I left them all plain but you could ink the edges, emboss the paper, stamp on it.........lots of options. I also kept them fairly open but have tried adding more layers for a more closed look flower.....and they look amazing!
Rightio, better get a move on, I'm hoping to see my Grandson today! Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave......and don't forget to let me know if I've inspired you to use up some bits of your stash......I'd love to see what you've made!

Thank You!

Hi crafty friends.....hope you're all well!
Seems like the weather people might just have got it right as it's shaping up to be a lovely day......not that I like the heat  but I do like being able to leave the patio doors open, hang out the washing and just wander in & out.....and I really do need to have a tidy up in the
So for today's share I have a 'thank you' card topper......another super quick & easy make but one that I really enjoyed making! It took me back to my childhood when we used to sit at the kitchen table after every birthday, Christmas, Easter......any gift giving time & we used to write countless thank you letters! Such a difference to today when it's much easier to send a text, an email or a Facebook message. I much prefer the personal touch & always have a few thank you cards at the ready.
I used a Hunkydory sheet from one of their little books, a die cut frame, die cut banners, a punched flower & finished with a couple of faux pearls.
Another busy day beckons so I'll say thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave...
......see you tomorrow!

Using up some stash!

Hi friends......happy Wednesday!
Can't believe how fast the days are going, it'll be the weekend before we know it!
The weather seems to have changed again today, the skies are grey & it's a bit gloomy out
there......although I have to admit to liking the rain so it wouldn't bother me too
much.....especially if it means I get to stay in & craft lol!
So for today I made another topper.....Like many of us I have stacks of papers that have come free with magazines, usually they don't get used but a while back I was having a root
through some stash & came across some that were so lovely I just had to use them.......and
this is what I made! Again, mostly dies were used.....all layered onto a piece of distressed
paper & finished with a stamped sentiment & some pearls.......and again, it looks so much
nicer IRL.......the colours are so rich & the flowers so pretty.
Rightio, another busy morning awaits if I want some crafty playtime later so thanks for
calling & for any comments you might leave......see you tomorrow!

Pretty as a Picture!

Hi friends, happy Tuesday!
Hope you're all well & managing a little of what makes you smile!
Today's share is made wholly with die cuts & punches, I embossed the middle layer with a hearts embossing folder & finished with a few pearls......job done.......but I have to say it looks so much prettier in real life! Quite a useful make too as I think it would suit almost any
occasion. Short & sweet today as I have a busy afternoon so thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave......see you tomorrow!

Special Mum

Hi friends......hope you're all well!
It's promising to be a beautiful day here on the Yorkshire Coast so guess what's gonna be the
highlight of my day? Washing on the line lol......there's nothing better than the smell of
freshly dried washing, is there? It really doesn't take much to please me!!
Anyway, I have another make to share know when you have an idea buzzing around in your head & you can't settle to anything else until you've tried it? Well, this was
supposed to be a quick & easy card........but oh my gosh, it took forever......and I do mean
forever! I simply layered up some pink & white card then cut the sunray frame once in pink then once more in each of the different papers BUT.......I got all the papers mixed up & sorting them out again & getting the right size in the right place was no mean feat lol. I do think it was worth it though, the papers look so pretty & I finished it off with a special mum topper.....both papers & topper are from Craftwork Cards.
Rightio, gonna go do some baking.......bakewell tart today, I think! Thanks for calling & for
any comments you might leave......see you tomorrow!

And what a gorgeous Sunday it is too! The weather's lovely, the jobs are done.......and
I'm gonna have myself a crafty afternoon!
But first I have my 'Something for the Weekend' make to share.....a little mixed media card
topper this time, I stamped, inked, embossed, die cut, splatted & sprayed and finished with a shiny silver embossed heart! Had myself a right messy old time.........and I'm quite pleased
with the end result too!

Paper Frosting Friday #2

Hi crafty friends......happy Friday......these weeks sure are flying past!
More paper frosting to share today........thought I'd share a Halloween set, maybe a
little early in the year but it's always best to be prepared lol!
It's quite a big set but it could have been HUGE as once I started I just couldn't stop lol!
Ok, I'll be honest.......I didn't stop and had to split it into 2 lots!!
The ideas were coming thick & fast  and I used up so many bits & really was great
fun to make........I used mine mainly for scrapbook pages but it would work just as well
on cards......think I might get me a head start on this year's Halloween!
Rightio, that's my lot for today, got lots to do. Thanks for calling & for any comments
you might leave......see you tomorrow!

Water with Crafty Cardmakers!

Hi crafty friends......happy Monday!
Today I have my Dt make for the Crafty Cardmakers new challenge to share......the
theme this fortnight, as chosen by Josephine is WATER! And we've sure had plenty of that what with all the rain & snow we've had recently lol!
I chose to go with bath water......there's nothing more relaxing than a long soak in a nice, hot bath.....
a candle burning........and if my bath tub was as pretty as this one I'd never be out of it!
The image & backing card is from Kanban, I added a few paper flowers, some die cut foliage, a die cut butterfly, the sentiment was computer generated & layered onto a die cut banner then the whole thing was layered onto a piece of mirri card & finished with a few faux pearls.
Do please pop over to the main challenge blog where you'll find all the rules (not many) and the gorgeous Dt makes for inspiration (lots) & hopefully you'll come join us!
Thanks for calling......see you soon!

Friends are the best Gifts!

Hi friends......happy Sunday!
Hope you're all having a fun filled, crafty weekend!
Bit dull & dreary here but at least it's dry......for now......although I don't hold out much hope for the rest of the day!
I have another card topper to share today....or maybe a paper frosting for a scrapbook
page/journal.............or maybe it would look nice in a frame? That's the good thing about paper crafts......many of the things we make can be used for different things......and it's lovely to have a piece of unique home decor!
So mostly scraps from the bit box have been used again, I made some paper flowers (I think I'm slightly addicted to them!), added some die cuts, a stamped sentiment & finished with some faux pearls.
Rightio, gonna go grab some lunch then have a crafty hour or two. Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave......see you tomorrow!

Something for the Weekend - Let's Bake!

Hi friends......welcome to Something for the Weekend!
This weekend it's food related.....not good for my waistline but good fun to make!
I've been in a baking mood for a good few weeks now.....cakes, fudge, flapjack, chocolates...
......all the things I know are bad for you (eeek!) but I figured a little bit of what you fancy
doesn't do you any harm......right? And in my house nothing lasts long enough to cause me
any serious problems lol!
I made a card topper, a little bit shabby in style using my favourite kraft card.......and more
bits from my bit box! Everything was die cut then simply layered onto a piece of floral
paper with distressed edges & finished with a few faux pearls.
So after I'd finished the topper I made some cupcakes.....I'd originally planned one big
cake but I figured if I made cupcakes I'd have more chance of controlling the portion size!
Here's my Coffee & Walnut cupcakes
I have to say they looked much better in real life and oh my, they tasted delicious!
The sponge was moist & delicious, the coffee flavour topping was sooooo good & then the
walnut to finish was just perfect!
Thanks for calling, have a lovely weekend & whatever you're up to hope you manage
a crafty hour......or two!

Paper Frosting - Love/Valentine

Hi friends......happy Friday!
Well, dare I say feels like Spring may be making its mark in my neck of the woods,
yesterday was a lovely day & today seems much the same.....a little chilly but at least we have no rain or snow. Let's hope it lasts a little longer cos it sure is good to get the washing out on the line!
It's the simple things in life that please me lol!
So for today I have some more Paper Frosting to share......these were part of a love/Valentine collection I made. All using bits from my bit box, some Tim Holtz chit chat stickers & a few gems I simply layered up some die cut shapes......a great way to use up those little bits that we don't want to throw away!
Rightio, that's me for today......thanks for calling in & for any comment you might leave.
Have a lovely day & I'll see you tomorrow!

Washi Wednesday #1!

Hi crafty friends......hope you're all well!

Welcome to Washi Wednesday......I LOVE washi tape, I have reels & reels of the stuff but very rarely use it, now that's about to change! Starting today the 1st Wednesday of every month is Washi Wednesday........ I'd love you to join me in sharing any & all makes using some Washi tape!

For today's make you will need 5 assorted Washi tapes, 2 pieces of card & some banner dies.

Stick pieces of Washi tape onto the card & cut out using the banner dies.

I cut 5 pieces, all different patterns then 1 piece cut at
 both ends & left plain.

I arranged the Washi strips onto the square card piece, added the plain strip across the front then finished with a die cut word......quick, easy ......and I love it! Obviously you can choose colours, patterns, shapes & the word to suit yourself.
If you'd like to join me on Washi Wednesday leave me a comment so I can pop over & see your creation & if you'd like to, I'd love to share your makes on my blog so drop me an email with a pic & instructions!
Thanks for popping in......see you soon!

Follow your Dreams!

Hi friends......hope you're all well & enjoying the long weekend!
We've had rain, rain & even more rain......perfect weather for crafting, I think that's
my plan for the rest of the day.....with a little chocolate thrown in!
Today I have a card topper to share.....or it could be used as a scrapbook embellishment.....
...or maybe it would look nice in a frame? Anyway, it was fun to make........I used up lots more
snippets......and I found a new colour combo I like too!
The papers & the bingo panels are from Vintage Finds paper pad by Teresa Collins, the
sentiment if I remember rightly is from LOTV, the cheesecloth started off white but I
spritzed it with a Dylusions ink spray, I made the flowers myself.....and everything else is
either punched or die cut.
Thanks for popping by & for any comments you might leave.......enjoy the rest of your day!
