Oddball Art challenge reminder!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well. It's a very cool, damp & misty morning

here today.....good job I'm staying home! Got lots of nasty h****work to

do first then hopefully I'll be having a crafty play later on.

So for my card I used an image I already had coloured up, I'd done it for a canvas

I made for my daughter then realised I'd used the sad faced image instead of

A little decoupage.....

Morning lovelies.....hope you're all well & had a lovely weekend.

Today I have a travel themed card to share, I made it with a certain person in mind 

then realized I'd already made him one.......doh, must be because my head is too

full of Christmas lol. Some simple matting & layering, some torn distressed inky edges

 & a couple of layers of decoupage.....and I decorated the inside too......

Sharing an Oldie - Autumn Days

Morning my crafty friends & bloggers......hope you're all well & looking

forward to the weekend....a couple of lazy days for us, something nice to eat & maybe

watch some tv.....I so love this time of the year. So it's Friday again and that means

its time to 'Share an Oldie' craft style with our lovely host Erika over at Snappycrafts,

gosh these weeks sure are flying past! Today I have a digi layout to share...only a couple

of years old but it seemed to fit as we're now into Autumn! I created this one in 

Serif & the subject is of course, my little miss Rebecca! We'd had a walk to the shops

one day, it was quite windy as you can probably tell by her hair lol, the leaves were

swirling around our feet, the colours were gorgeous & she decided she just had to stop

& hug a tree.....happy days! So that's my crafty offering for today, gonna have a

wander around town with one of my boys today......wonder if I'll manage to bypass

A big hello & welcome to my new followers....so happy to have you join me.

We can really feel the change of season this morning, there's a definite nip in the

air......and a bit of a frosty feel to the day.....and I love it! The next few months are

my favourite part of the year.....and guess what.......I made a start on some Christmas

shopping! So for today I have another Christmas card to share..........again, almost

totally flat for posting although I have to admit it was so hard not to add more gems!

From card to notebook

Morning my lovely crafty friends......hope you're all well.

Today I have an A5 notebook to share, you might remember the card image

from August....it was an Oddball Art Dt make....& rather than waste it I decided

to turn it into a notebook cover.....what do you think? I simply distressed the edges,

layered some black & pink card along with a piece of chalkboard paper & that

was it....quick & easy......and useful too!

Merry Christmas.....CAS style!

Morning crafty friends & bloggers......hope you're all well.

Finally, I managed to get on with some Christmas crafting, think I scared myself

silly when I realised how much I have (want) to do! So I made a start with the

simplest of cards.....maybe not quite CAS compared to some but probably as close
 as I'm gonna get....and it works for posting too so think I'm gonna be making lots
 more in this style.

The fab paper is from Craftwork Cards & the image is from a LOTV art pad, the

sentiment was done on the computer....there's a sprinkle of glitter on there too but

it's quite hard to see.  So that's my crafty offering for today, hoping to manage 

another hour (or 2) at my desk once I get all my jobs done. Thanks for calling....

It's (nearly) Christmas!!

Hi friends, happy Saturday......hope you're all well.

I was up bright & early this morning eager to get into my craft room, did have go via the laundry basket though cos it's a beautiful day & I couldn't pass up the chance to get some washing on the line......doesn't take much to please me lol. So, as planned I made a start on some Christmas

cards.......lots of die cut layers but not even a gem in sight so super flat for posting.

 weekend. I was planning on some Christmas crafting but then realised Halloween is not

 too far away..........so maybe some Halloween crafting first! So for this weeks 'Share an

Morning crafty bloggers......hope you're all well.

A beautiful morning here on the Yorkshire Coast but there's a definite nip

in the air......Autumn's almost here! So today I have a notebook to share, another

great way to use up odds & ends. A5 in size, I decorated it with some of the 

gorgeous Chalkboard papers from Craftwork Cards & some bits from my stash.

I did plan on adding ribbon down the side but the binding is quite close together

& it made it a bit awkward when opening & closing.

Mixed Media Monday!

Hi my lovely crafty blog friends.....hope you're all well.

Time for another instalment of Mixed Media Monday & today I have a canvas to 

share......I was planning on taking pics of each stage.....I guess I should never make 

plans lol. I started with the simplest of backgrounds, no real technique just messy

 fun made with a couple of acrylic paint dabbers & some kitchen roll. I just dabbed 

and blotted until I was happy with it than added a sprinkle of glitter while it was

still damp. Once properly dry I added the image and all the other bits and pieces 

and there we have it.....another canvas for Miss Rebecca's wall.

Time to Share an Oldie!

Hi friends......happy Friday, hope you're all well. 

There's a definite nip in the air this morning although it seems to be warming up a 

bit....yesterday was so warm I swear I almost melted! All is good here....everyone seems to

 have settled into their new school/College routines but like me, they're looking forward to the weekend. So today's the day to share an oldie craft style with Erica over at Snappycrafts as she

 hosts a weekly look back at past crafty makes. I'm sharing an oldie from just a couple of years

 ago, really need to get my butt moving for Christmas so thought a look back at Christmas makes might just inspire me a bit. For this card I used free-with-a-mag papers & if I remember rightly 

the image was a freebie too... from Polkadoodles.

Little Book of Christmas 2015

Morning lovelies......hope you're all feeling good & having a good week!

Well, Miss Rebecca is finally back at school today after a long 8 week Summer

 break.......and you know what that means.......time to Countdown to Christmas!!!! 

As usual, I start our countdown with my Little Book of Christmas 2015....my place
to record any & all things Christmas as I plan for the Big Day! This time it's A4 in
size, last year's A5 was just a little bit too small.

So I started by giving the book a coat of Gesso, I used blue & green acrylic paint,
a couple of stencils, I stamped onto tissue.....scrunched it all up & then added that.
The tree was made with lots of scraps onto a kraft card base....the trunk, gifts & star
are kraft card too. Once everything was dry I used my C'Aran d'Ache pastels to
outline & then used a damp paint brush to smudge. I finished with some ribbon, die cut
letters, die cut stars,  paper twine & a coat of crackle paint on the star.
So that's it.....I hope you like my book.....and maybe it'll inspire you to make your own
 Little Book of Christmas....

ATC Swap August 2015 makes

Good afternoon crafty friends & bloggers......hope you're all well.

Time to share my makes from my August ATC Swap....the theme was

'Under the Sea'......a great excuse for some inky playtime! The seahorse was
cut on my Silhouette & given a coat of distress crackle paint....I love the
effect you get....although it does pong a bit lol!
 As usual, we make & send 4 then once I've received them all I'll send you
an assortment of 4 back....here's a pic of some of the fabulous makes I
got......thanks ladies, they're all amazing!

Mixed Media Monday #4

Morning crafty bloggers.......hope you're all well & had a lovely weekend.

We had the laziest of weekends & while it's nice once in a while it'll be great 

once the boys & Miss B are all back at College/School later on this week....

then I think we'll enjoy the weekends much more.

So as you might know........I've dedicated Monday to Mixed Media.... there's much

 I want to learn & I figured if I dedicated a day to it you lovely lot might come

along & learn with me & we can maybe share some hints & tips as we go.

So today's piece was actually my 2nd attempt....I wanted to see how the ink

would run if I sprayed it directly onto a gesso'd canvas. It did run slightly but if

 I sprayed some water onto the canvas it worked much better. I think my 

problem was I was trying to be too precise & neat......once I let myself just go

with it I was pretty chuffed with the result & had fun......hence the words:

REMEMBER TO PLAY!

So I started with a blank canvas, sprayed lightly with water then sprayed with

my chosen inks, tipped it slightly then the best part......watching the colours

 run.....and you can just keep spraying til you're happy! I dried it with the heat

gun & while still damp I sprinkled some glitter over the whole thing.....oh my

gosh, when the light catches it it looks so pretty! I then added the die cut

butterfly, the sentiment & finished with a few gems.
