Hi friends......welcome to Something for the Weekend!
This weekend it's food related.....not good for my waistline but good fun to make!
I've been in a baking mood for a good few weeks now.....cakes, fudge, flapjack, chocolates...
......all the things I know are bad for you (eeek!) but I figured a little bit of what you fancy
doesn't do you any harm......right? And in my house nothing lasts long enough to cause me
any serious problems lol!
I made a card topper, a little bit shabby in style using my favourite kraft card.......and more
bits from my bit box! Everything was die cut then simply layered onto a piece of floral
paper with distressed edges & finished with a few faux pearls.
So after I'd finished the topper I made some cupcakes.....I'd originally planned one big
cake but I figured if I made cupcakes I'd have more chance of controlling the portion size!
Here's my Coffee & Walnut cupcakes
I have to say they looked much better in real life and oh my, they tasted delicious!
The sponge was moist & delicious, the coffee flavour topping was sooooo good & then the
walnut to finish was just perfect!
Thanks for calling, have a lovely weekend & whatever you're up to hope you manage
a crafty hour......or two!

ReplyDeleteYour topper is a perfect compliment for the cake :) Love pink and kraft combo, so sweet!
This card is so lovely, Jo. Just got that die myself! I have not cut it out het...perhaps yours will inspire me as I love the delicate floral paper you chose for the accent pieces. I like the contrast of the feminine papers with the kraft paper!
ReplyDeleteA super card Jo, pretty papers.
ReplyDeleteYour cupcake looks yummy, your house sounds like mine - it takes a lot longer to bake cakes than it does for them to disappear.
