Challenge #2 - Lovely Ladies

Good morning crafty friends, hope you're all well.

Welcome to challenge #2 ....here in the UK we celebrate Mother's Day in March
so the challenge theme this time is going to be
LOVELY LADIES
You can go as girly, frilly & fancy as you like or as CAS as you like!
A nice, easy theme this time & only a few simple rules to follow & you could
be the randomly picked winner! Just to recap on the rules as I've made a
couple of small changes.

1- You must follow the theme
2 - Any & all makes welcome so long as you follow the theme
3 - You can use any products you like
4 - One entry, new makes only
5 - You must follow this blog

Also, I've decided to extend the closing date.........the challenge will still start
on the 4th of every month but will now run until the very last day of the month.

Just like last month there will be a surprise prize for one lucky randomly picked winner!

Here's my make......

I started with a base layer of kraft card, added a distressed paper layer then a cream
card layer with a circle cut out. I die cut 4 paper butterflies, layered them all
together in the centre then added the die cut words & finished with faux pearls.

2 of a Kind!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well and enjoying the weekend so far.
Not much going on here today, my little grandson Asher is so, so full of cold so I'm
not sure if tomorrow's plans will go ahead.........if not, no worries, there'll be lots
of snuggles to be had.
Two mini 4x4 card toppers to share today...... I love how the same die & card design
can look so different just by changing the colours & one little piece of paper so I
decided to do one each in typical boy/girl colours...........oh, and the die was a real
bargain.....£1.79!! They were so quick & easy to make too.....a base card layer, then a
distressed paper layer....next, a layer with an aperture cut. The little character was
cut once in each colour then pieced back together, I added peel-offs (yes, peel-offs!)
to the die cut banner strips then finished with a die cut star & some little gems.
Rightio, I'll call it a day.....thanks so much for dropping by......and don't forget the
clocks go forward tonight!
xx

On Your Special Day

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well & ready for the weekend.
Do you have anything nice planned? We have my gorgeous Asher to stay
& then we're going out on Sunday (Mother's Day in the UK). a little shopping
and maybe something nice to eat will be the order of the day, I think,
So today's make was an unexpected find......tucked away down the inside of a
drawer was a little decoupage topper kit. Not sure how long it's been there
but I think it will have been years rather than months!
I imagined it to be a wedding topper but I suppose it would do for any special
occasion really. There's 4 layers of decoupage & I simply matted & layered
onto silver mirri and then white card....think I might add a little gem to the
centre of those little white flowers though. Quite hard to get a decent photo
without any reflection on the mirri card!
Rightio, better dash....got lots to do if I want a crafty hour (or two) later,
thanks for calling & for any comments......see you tomorrow.

You Are Sew Lovely

Hi friends, hope you're all well & enjoying the same sunshine we have here.
It's a little too much for me but not to worry.......it gives me the perfect excuse
to stay indoors and craft!
Today's make was supposed to be a CAS make.....but I felt I added a little
too much for that......and now I feel I've not added enough! So I'll leave it as
it is and who knows, maybe I'll come back to it and add something else.
The topper measures approx 6x6 & is full of snippets from my scrap box....
....everything is die cut, the sentiment I typed in Word and printed off and then
I finished with a few faux gems.
Rightio, short & sweet today, thanks for calling &  I'll see you tomorrow.

That Special Someone at Crafty Cardmakers!

Hi friends, hope you're all well & looking forward to the week ahead.
To kick start your crafting week we have a new challenge over at
where our Marlene is the host & the theme she chose is......
'That Special Someone'
As usual, anything you like to make we like to see & if you're low on
inspiration then look no further than the amazing Dt makes over on the main
challenge blog.......we'd love to see you there.
I made a card topper for aspecial friend, a beautiful Kanban image layered onto
pink Kanban card, then Hunkydory mirri card. I then added a border strip of
matching card & finished with a couple of die cut flowers with faux pearl
centres. ......another quick & easy make!
So that's my lot for today, thanks for calling......see you tomorrow!

A Little Bit Vintage.....

Morning crafters, hope you're all well.
It's another gorgeous day here,a bit breezy but still sunny with a beautiful blue
sky......makes me think I should be pottering about in the garden but no, I'm making
the most of the weekend and having yet another crafty day!
So today's topper is from a bargain pad I found in the Works....£2 for a pad full of
enough pages to make at least 12 card toppers....all in a beautiful vintage style!
I made this one up as per the inspiration pic on the back of the pad but usually with
these I would add more layers and bits & pieces from my stash. I simply distressed
the paper layer then added all elements on foam pads.
Rightio, better dash......thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave,
see you tomorrow.

You Are Special

Good morning crafty friends, are you well? I hope so.
It's a lovely day over here on the Yorkshire Coast, the sun is shining.....the skies
are blue......and I'm already in the craft room.....and plan on being here for
most of the day!
I have a shabby chic style card topper to share today, lots of lovely distressed paper
layers topped with a huge layered butterfly finished with a die cut sentiment and
some faux pearls. I'm real pleased with this & think I might make something similar
to pop in a frame.
Rightio, I'm off to make the most of the day..........thanks for calling & for any
comments you might leave.....and whatever you're up to have a lovely day.
See you tomorrow.

Mandala Love

Hi friends, happy Friday.....hope you're all well & looking forward to the weekend.
We have nothing planned.....well, maybe a little crafty time.....but mainly looking forward
to some peace & quiet, it's been a busy few weeks in our house & it's taking it's toll.
Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on yesterday's sympathy card, such a
difficult card to make.
So for today I have a topper to share, simply made using just one piece of paper and
some die cuts. The die cuts were from a set I bought from the Works, I think they were
only £4....and the paper, from the Works also, cost only £1 for the pad!
I finished with a 'love' sentiment & a matching faux gem......very quick & easy!
Rightio, I'm off to make the most of this quiet household & get crafting...thanks for
calling & for any comments you might leave.....see you tomorrow!

With Sympathy

A quick post today, just wanted to share a sympathy card.....I always feel like I shouldn't
blog these cards but as this one is just for my box I thought it'd be ok. It didn't start
out as a sympathy card but as it came together it just felt right. I started with a base layer
of adorable scorable, a layer of white, a distressed paper layer then the beautiful die cut
panel. Next I layered a die cut flower silhouette onto a circle then finished with a die cut
banner & the sentiment.
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave....see you tomorrow.

Birthday Girl!

Hi friends, happy Monday......and don't they roll around fast?
Not sure why time seems to fly so fast nowadays, maybe it's something to do
with getting older? Did you have a good weekend? I had my darling Asher......and
he had his first haircut.......oh my, he looks adorable.......and suddenly so grown up!
So today I have another 3d card to share.....and doesn't that cake look delicious?
Lots of layering of pieces using foam pads & I finished with lots of faux gems.
Looks so much nicer in real life when you can see the gems sparkling.
Thanks for calling....and for any comments you might leave.
See you tomorrow

Sew Special

Hey friends, hope you're all well.
It's been a strange week weather wise.....we've had all four seasons here and today
it's that windy it could blow you over.......but the sun is shining & the skies are the most
beautiful blue.....I wonder what tomorrow will bring?
I have a sewing themed make to share today......can't remember what this style is
called but I do remember it's from Hunkydory & is part of a fabulous 3d collection.
All the pieces are die cut so it's just a case of assembling them either following
the guide or making your own up....I did a mixture of both. Normally I'd like to layer
all the pieces with foam pads but this time, with postage in mind,  I decided to keep
 them flat.
Rightio, got a couple of jobs to do before my Grandson comes so I better get a move
on......thanks for calling & whatever you're up to......have fun!
See you tomorrow..

Anything Goes at Not Just Cards

Hi friends, hope you're all well.
We have a new challenge for you over at NOT JUST CARDS, as usual, the theme is
ANYTHING  GOES and there's some fabulous makes to inspire you over on the
 main challenge blog.
I decorated a wooden heart this time......I started with a basic wooden heart, gave it a
coat of gesso, next came a coat of coloured paint, then I stamped onto it & finished with
a coat of crackle paint. I added some cream lace, a paper rose and some die cut foliage.
Thanks for calling.....hope to see you over at Not Just Cards!

Make It Green at Crafty Cardmakers

Morning crafters, it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers........Marlene is
our host this fortnight & the theme is MAKE IT GREEN.
As usual, anything you like to make we like to see and if you're low on inspiration
then look no further than he fabulous Dt makes over on the challenge blog.
I made a decoupaged topper this time, a floral scene that I thought might be useful
for male or female cards.
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave.....see you tomorrow

Another Easel Card!

Happy Saturday, crafty friends......hope you have something nice planned for the weekend.
Me? I have my Grandson......and everything stops when my little bear comes to stay...
.....can't believe how much I adore the little fella.
So for today I have another easel card to share, another of the one sheet wonders
from Hunkydory.......they're so quick & easy to make which makes them very
addictive. All the elements are die cut so all you need is some glue & foam pads.
Same card, different angle

and again......

Sorry about the poor photos.......was so hard to get a good picture on such a dull day
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave.....have a lovely weekend.

To A Special Mum

Hey crafty friends, hope you're all well.
A dry day here, bit nippy....no wait, it's actually really cold!
So, does anybody know where the week went?? I think somebody must have stolen a
day or two! Seems the older I get the faster time passes.
So today I have another bear card topper to share.......bit like buses are my bears, none
for ages then 2 come along at once lol! Couldn't resist this little bear, not sure if she's
enjoying afternoon tea or breakfast in bed but I think my son has claimed it for his
son to give to his Mum for her birthday. Quite apt I think, as I call my grandson,
Asher, my little bear so it figures his Mum would be a bear also.
Simple matting & layering of the card base and distressed paper then I added some
bunting & the die cut words then finished with some faux gems.........job done.

Tea in the slow cooker for us today which means one thing.....more crafty time for me!!
Thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave....see you tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Bears

Hi my crafty friends, hope you're all well & warm....it's a bit nippy over this
way today & it's rained on & off all day. Hope it eases off as I have an
early appointment in the morning.
I have a little easel card to share today..... I was lucky enough to win a magazine
competition a few moths ago & the prize was a book full of bear images & two
packs of one sheet wonders from Hunkydory. Now I'm not really a bear person but
the images are so sweet with a real shabby chic feel to them.....and the one sheet
wonders are full of the loveliest easel cards.....and I just couldn't resist these
little bears holding the biggest bunch of flowers! Nothing else has been added, I
only used what was on the sheet but I'm thinking to add a few faux gems to the
 centre of the flowers.
That's me for today.....going to go get the tea on. Thanks for calling & for any
comments you might leave......see you tomorrow!

It's rained all day long although I'm not complaining, it'll do wonders for my gardens.

simple sentiment and some faux gems.
Rightio, better dash......got the house to myself this afternoon so making the most of the peace

Birthday Wishes

Hi friends, welcome to my little corner of Blogland.......and a very wet, cool & grey
corner of Blogland it is today too! As usual, when the weather's like this there's no
better place to be than my craft room!
Another decoupaged card topper to share today using some long neglected stash...
.....all elements are from just one sheet, simply layered onto a mat of blue card
and finished with a little banner die cut & some faux gems......quick, easy but oh,
so pretty in real life. Here's a closer look at all the layers......
Rightio, that's my lot for today.....I'll be back in the morning with a new challenge
theme for you........Would love for you to join me.

A little bit of recycling

Hi friends, happy Saturday afternoon! Hope you're all well and enjoying
the weekend.
It's a bit chilly here today & there's a bit of a wind brewing so guess
where I am...........you guessed right...........the craft room!
I have a little bit of recycling to share today.......a get well soon card my
son received a couple weeks ago. I thought it was so nice, the colours are right
up my street & the whole thing reminds me of something  my daughter
would draw.......I'll have to post something of hers one of these days.
I simply cut out the main part of the card, layered onto gold mirri then layered
that onto a mat of gold mirri & teal card using foam pads for a little extra
dimension.........then finished with a die cut sentiment.
Rightio, better get on.....I have a 'to-do' list a mile long......thanks for calling & for
any comments you might leave.....see you tomorrow.

Hunkydory Product Review - Florabunda

Hi friends, hope you're all well.
A little while ago I was asked if I'd like to review some Hunkydory products....
.....oh yes I would.....I got to choose £30 worth of products and I knew exactly what I'd
like.....the beautiful FLORABUNDA collection. I chose the 8x8 paper pad and the
Florabunda Matt-tastic Adorable Scorable Collection A gorgeous mix of shabby chic style
toppers & embellishments, patterned cardstock & the most beautiful foiled raft card I've
 ever seen!
The paper pad is an 8x8 double sided collection packed full of the lovliest
colours (pinks, duck egg, kraft ) and patterns (gingham, spots, florals) that all work together
so well. The luxury card collection is huge, it's all printed on the fabulous matt-tastic adorable scorable & contains a massive 16 foiled & die cut topper sheets, 16 foiled kraft card
& 16 matt-tastic adorable scorable cardstock. The die cut sheets are a fab assortment of
flowers, butterflies, images, frames, sentiments, tags....and there are also die cut boxes!
As usual, with Hunkydory products the
quality is amazing, the kraft card is like nothing I've seen before & the die cut topper sheets
are packed full of beautiful toppers & embellishments. And as for value for money, well to
be honest I don't think there's anything to beat it.......Hunkydory suggest the main kit will
make at least 32 cards....well I'd say double that at least, maybe even treble it, there
really is that much to work with.
I made a box, 2 card toppers & 2 cards.....and have plans for bunting, tags, more
boxes, more cards, more toppers & some home decor pieces for my craft room cos
funnily enough the colours & style of this kit match my craft room perfectly!
I used simple matting & layering techniques for my makes....some I kept neat & tidy,
other I distressed the edges. I used foam pads to give a bit of extra dimension
on the die cut flowers.
As for extra's, all I used was some card, card blanks & some faux gems & a couple
of die cut words....you really don't need to add anything else.
Florabunda is sold as a luxury card collection & in my opinion it most definitely is
luxury. It's so good to have a kit that you just know will all work together, it makes it
even better value for money. If the colours, florals or anything about this kit appeal
to you 1'd say go for it, you really won't regret it.......and there's more in the
I think there may well be a review part 2 very soon......that's the only thing with
this kit......once you start playing you won't want to stop!!
Thanks for reading this review.....if you've made anything with this kit I'd love
it if you'd let me know so's I could come take a peek.

xx
