Challenge #3 - Easter/Spring

Good morning crafty friends, hope you're all well.

Welcome to challenge #3........Spring has sprung and Easter is almost upon us

so this month the theme is going to be

Spring/Easter

Lots of scope to play with this time......Easter eggs, Spring chicks, lovely little

lambs.....beautiful Spring gardens.......lots to choose from.

Here's my make......

Imagine a beautiful Spring day & you're cycling through the countryside

on the way to lunch at a lovely country pub.......well, a girl can dream lol.

My days of cycling anywhere are well & truly over but I did enjoy making 

this topper......all elements are Hunkydory.

Birdhouse

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well.

Today I have a topper to share......I used images from the Hunkydory picture perfect 

range & the coordinating die set.......such a lovely set to work with and the images

 are so pretty.......and you get so many! Simple matting & layering for this make then

I made the topper with images & frame, I raised this on foam pads then finished with

 a few die cut flowers & faux gems. I wanted a clean, fresh look for this card and 

so went for one of my favourite colour combos, lifted with a little white.

Another gorgeous day here, a little bit cool but still lovely. I've had a little trip to town with Miss Rebecca today....I can't walk too far but we managed the clothes shop for her & the craft shop for me......happy days!

Something For The Weekend!

.....and welcome to Something For The Weekend, my time to share something,

First up today is a photo....my gorgeous grandson Asher had just had

tea..........but couldn't stay awake long enough for me to take him out of

his highchair. We took him out, washed & changed him & he went straight

to bed without even opening an eye!!

Next up is kitty cat Willow.....and there she stayed til teatime!

What is it with cats & boxes?

Beautiful Birthday Wishes

Hi lovely friends, hope you're all well.

Thought we'd start with a weather report......it's a lovely, sunny day!!

I have a card to share today, this one made with elements from the latest

Hunkydory member's gift.....such a gorgeous collection in soft blues

& pinks matched with stripes, dots & gingham.....beautiful.

Lots of lovely layers for the base & I layered the sentiment onto silver

mirri then raised it all up on foam pads....added a die cut frame & a

few faux gems to finish.  This card was one Miss Rebecca asked me to

make for her to give to a friend......hope she likes it!

Have A Fabulous Day

Morning, hope you're all well & warm....there's a definite change in the

weather today......cool, dark & promising rain......perfect crafting weather!

I have a super quick & easy card to share today....a base of white, a layer of

 black, a piece of patterned paper then I added words printed with my

little Dymo machine...a couple of die cuts and finished with faux gems.

I seem to be drawn more to these style of cards lately, love how they're so

quick to make & can be so easily adapted for any occasion.....although I

have a feeling I'll be making something fussy & fancy real soon!

Unicorn

Hi friends, hope you're all well and had a lovely, long Bank Holiday weekend....

......did you eat lots of chocolate?  It was lovely to spend time outdoors, we got a

few jobs done in the garden, had a lovely family dinner on Sunday.....and now it's back

to normal....and it's Wednesday already!! Don't know where the time goes, I feel

since I've gotten older time goes so much faster....soon be Christmas!!

Did I really say that out loud?? It'll nearly be time to make my yearly little book

of Christmas....and I really fancy doing a December Daily type journal this year.

Anyway, enough waffling from me....today I have a quick & easy layered

topper to share....more scraps from the scrap box for the die cut layers, finished 

with a die cut unicorn head, die cut stars & a few faux gems....job done.

No sentiment as I thought it would suit many occasions.

Morning crafty friends, hope you're ok......and still enjoying the sunshine!

Who'd have thought we'd have sunshine at Easter? Not really my kind of weather

but it was lovely watching Asher toddle around the garden & play on his

new swing yesterday.

It's new challenge time for you over at Crafty Cardmakers where the theme is

DRAGONS  or MYTHICAL CREATURES

A tough one for me then I remembered the gorgeous twilight images I have from

Hunkydory.....I created a card blank then cut away the top right corner. On the

 inside I added paper cut into 3 strips, trimmed a piece to match the front corner...

 I layered the topper onto white then black card.....added this to the front of my

card blank then finished with a couple of die cut stars & faux gems.

As usual, we love to see anything you'd like to make....and if you're low on

One Sheet Wonder #3

Hey everyone, Happy Easter to you all.........is the sun still shining? It is here, can't

wait to see little Asher toddling around the garden looking for the Easter bunny..

.......and maybe an Easter egg or two! I'm trying to sneak in a crafty hour before

they all arrive for lunch.....wish me luck!

So today I'm sharing another 'One Sheet Wonder' collection.....I'm trying so hard

to use up some stash but at the same time I want to make as much as I can......hence

the one sheet wonders, although this time I didn't quite use a full 6x6 sheet.

I kept all cards the same 4x4 base then used only 1 piece of A4 white card & 1 

piece of 6x6 paper in a beautiful design, perfect for Spring.....and a snippet of 

pink for the sentiments. I think if I was super

 CAS I might even manage to make at least 1 maybe 2 more cards with the bits I

have left over. I wanted to keep them as clean & simple as possible but 

oh boy, you don't know how hard it was to not add even the tiniest of gems!!

And trying to take a decent photo of all that white was so hard....this was the

best of a bad bunch and still doesn't show the paper at it's prettiest.

Morning crafty friends, hope you're all well & enjoying the weekend so far.

Can you believe the weather's ok? Bank holidays & rain usually go hand in hand

in the UK but not this time....it's a beautiful day here on the Yorkshire Coast, the

sun is shining, the skies are blue.....I'm sure there's a song in there somewhere!

So yesterday I spent a lovely few hours at my desk.......5 cards I made!! Don't 

think I've made that many at once for a long time......of course, one of them was

 a Christmas card so that's what I'm sharing today. 

I started with a page from one of my bargain die cut books from the Works,

I like to add some elements of my own to these so started with a base layer of

red card followed by a distressed paper layer then the background layer from the

book. Next, I added the die cut pieces, popped up on foam pads for extra height.

I added a little piece of ribbon to the tag then finished with a few die cut

silver snowflakes & faux gems.

Our Dad

Morning friends, hope you're all well.....and a happy Bank Holiday weekend to

those of you in the UK......I do believe we have a good weather forecast too.......

....but I think I'll just wait & see lol. Nothing planned here, the kids are all busy

doing their own thing so you know what that means..........lots of crafty time for me!!

We're all getting together for dinner on Sunday though so it'll be nice to

catch up.......and eat lots.....I'm sure them boys of mine have hollow legs!

Anyway, back to business......I got a bit carried away yesterday with the male

cards...........one to share today & one for Dt work. I feel as though I've had these

papers & decoupage sets for years & as I'm on a use my stash mission thought

it was about time they were put to use. A base of chocolate card, a cream card

layer then a paper layer......the topper is 3 layers of decoupage matted onto a piece

of cream card then mounted with foam pads. I added a banner die cut with the die cut

words then added a few faux gems to finish.....job done & more stash used!

Papa Bear

Morning crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well.

I have a male card to share today, don't really make too many of these which

is a bit odd considering I have 5 sons lol! I'm not really a bear person either but

I just couldn't resist Papa Bear from the Hunkydory pad.....seems these bears

are growing on me cos I've a nice pile on my desk just waiting to be finished!

So lots of simple matting & layering here, I framed the image & added the 

die cut banner with sentiment then finished with a few die cut stars.

One Sheet Wonder #2

Hi friends, hope you're all well.

Another set of one sheet wonders to share today.....Four 4x4 cards from one

6x6 sheet of paper! It does help that the paper is designed that way lol. I trimmed 

each square, layered them onto red cardstock then used foam pads to layer

them onto the card blanks. I added a double layer snowflake with a faux gem

centre then finished with a die cut sentiment.

That's it for today, I've got the urge to go bake something & hopefully I can have

Easter/Spring Mid Challenge Inspiration

Morning crafty friends, hope you're all well.

Today I have an Easter card to share, a little inspiration for my Easter/Spring

challenge.....my 1st make had more of a Spring feel to it so I've gone with

Easter for this one. The brief was pretty, pink, purple & had to have a bunny

on it! Hopefully I've got it right although it looks so much prettier in real life,

it's such a dull day here it was hard to get a good photo.

Mostly bits from the scrap box for this card, it measures approx 5x5 inches &

 I finished with a few faux gems then mounted onto a 6x6 card blank.

Something For The Weekend!

Twofer - Zoo Animals

Morning friends, Friday already.....how on earth did that happen so quickly?

Not that I'm complaining....I've had some fun crafting time this week......and today I've

got my gorgeous Asher (grandson)  coming!

I found a new to me challenge the other day whilst browsing blogland - Darnell's

Twofer challenge. The theme this time is zoo animals so I thought to play along I'd 

combine the zoo animals with CAS ......not sure my makes are quite CAS but I sure 

had fun playing!

So, the card on the left is a new baby card, the other would suit lots of occasions....

well, it would if you were wild about somebody lol!

Simple layers & die cuts.....some on foam pads for a little extra dimension.....then

layered onto card blanks, again on foam pads....and that's it.

Anything Goes at Not Just Cards!

Hi friends, hope you're all well.

I'm here with my Not Just Cards Dt hat on today as we have a new challenge

starting where the theme, as always, is ANYTHING GOES

We are a just for fun challenge but we do have a Top 3 & as the title says we

love to see anything you'd like to make.....Not Just Cards!

As usual, there's some fabulous Dt makes for your inspiration over on the main

blog......we'd love to see you there!

I decided to make a decoupage topper this time, lots of lovely layers in soft,

muted tones.....very feminine & pretty that I think would suit lots of

occasions. I finished with a 'with love' sentiment & a lacy butterfly.

Rightio, better get a move on.....I had a lovely crafty afternoon yesterday but

have to pay for it today lol.....there's a mountain of ironing to get through!

Not much planned for today so hopefully I'll manage an hour (or 3) at

my crafty desk, there's a couple of challenges that are new to me that I'd like

to enter so fingers crossed today's the day!

First though, I have a card to share......this one I made to send to the

winner of my Lovely Ladies challenge. I know Sarah has received it now so

hope she doesn't mind me sharing it.

It's probably one of the simplest cards to make but I think so special as it

can be made with any papers at all........and any sentiment can be added too

which makes it so versatile & so very useful to have in your card box.

One Sheet Wonder #1

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well.

I got the urge to make something Christmas the other day and here's what I

came up with........a set of 4 mini cards! Each measures 4 x 4 inches & are made

with just one sheet from a 6 x 6 paper pad! The sheet was cut into the 4 squares,

matted onto green card them I used foam pads to adhere the panels to the card

blanks. I finished with a die cut sentiment, die cut snowflakes & faux gems.

Thanks to everyone who asked how Dr appointments went yesterday, they were

 both diabetic appointments, blood sugars are still way too high so more tablets for

 that & the other appointment was a retina screening so I just need to wait for

the results for that.

Today's share is an decoupaged easel card. I made the base using a scalloped circle die then simply layered up all the die cut elements.........there's 4 layers............and finished with a Happy Birthday sentiment......quick & easy but very effective, I think.......and I love the colours!

Morning crafters, happy Saturday.....hope you're all well.

Just wanted to pop in to share a thank you card my 16 year old Daughter

 asked me to make......I'm so chuffed she wants to send thank you cards.

Apologies for the photo, it was so hard to take a decent one & this was the best of a

 bad bunch!! I used favourite design of mine, super quick & easy and uses minimal 

amounts of stash - 1 card blank, 1 scrap of patterned paper from the scrap box, 1 

piece of white card, scrap of pink and 2 faux gems!

Rightio, that's my lot for today.....I have an urge to go create something Christmassy!

Friday already.....doesn't time fly, especially when you're having crafty fun!

A bright & early start for me today, one of the best kind of days......up early, jobs

done, tea in the slow cooker then the whole day to myself.........bliss!

really enjoyed creating......and best of all I got to use up some really old stash!
