June - Day 3.....

Day 3:  Describe yourself in 5 words

OR

craft something in the colour blue!

Oooer, was gonna ask the kids for 5 words to describe me

but I imagine their 5 words would be a lot different to mine!!

So.....here goes....
Mum.....my kids call me Mama Jo!

Kind...my daughter chose that one

Creative....my head's sooo full of ideas

Happy.....well, most of the time anyway

Shy.....so blogging is perfect for me!

There, wasn't as hard as I thought. I managed the double today too

although my card isn't just blue....hope that's ok?

Rightio, kids are all back at school & it's a gorgeous day.....might have

a potter in the garden before it gets too hot!!

June Day 2.....

Hi guys, hope you're days been as full of sunshine as mine!

A fab win (66-0) for my boy Nic & his team at rugby today, a productive

 hour (or 2) at my desk and a roast beef dinner! So now it's time for day 2 

of this fab idea from Karoove!

Day 2: Tell us about your fav craft gadget & why it's just the bees knees

OR

craft something that has a summer theme!

Hmmmmm, I love everything in my craft room so thought this was gonna 

be tough but gadget-wise it's got to be my Big Shot! I had the smaller

Sidekick first but quickly "really, really needed" a Big Shot....now

I don't think I could craft without it. I use it for most makes, mainly die 

cutting....I always seem to forget about my embossing folders!

So that's it.....I love my Big Shot lol!

Blogging every day in June with Karoove!

Hiya, well there I was.....just settled down on the sofa with a coffee ready to 

do a bit of blog hopping and the very first post I saw was on Jacki's blog.

Karoove has set the task/challenge to blog every day in June.....hmmmm,

now there's a challenge, sounds like just the thing I'm looking for! I'm

gonna join in and am soooo full of good intentions.....so watch this 

space lol! Each daily post will have a choice of 2 prompts - word or craft.

Day 1: I'm going with the word prompt - tell us how you got into crafting.

Like so many other crafters I've "met" in blogland, cross stitch was my

first proper craft venture. I spent many a long cold Winter night

stitching coasters, bookmarks, wall hangings.....anything you could think

of until one day a friend asked if I could stitch something for a

Birthday card. And that was it.....I was hooked! I do still 

cross stitch, in fact I'm just about to start a Christmas present!

Bur for now, at least, papercraft has taken over the majority of my

craft time......paper, ribbon, pearls, promarkers.....oh my, I'm sooo hooked!

I'm lucky enough to have a craft room now.......and an 11 year old

daughter who loves to craft but doesn't like to clear up afterwards!!!!

So that's my story....would love to hear yours!

Thanks for the inspiration Karoove....hope I can last all month!

Buttons & Bows at Sparkles Christmas Challenges!

 Morning crafters.....Happy June 1st! I can't believe how fast this year's

 whizzing past.....before you know it, it will be Christmas!

Soooo, why not come join us over at Sparkles Christmas Challenges

craft creations just so long as they're Christmas related and of course

I've kind of decided that this year my Christmas colours will be kraft

and red and I made a very simple card using only a kraft card blank,red 

card, gingham card, my favourite sizzix snowflake, some red gems and stickles.

 And best of all it fits in a standard envelope so real easy to post!

Focus on the sentiment with Lexi's Creations!

Good morning to all in blogland! It's Bank Holiday weekend

here in the UK and guess what........we have sunshine!

I'm supposed to be in the garden  today but before I do I wanted

to tell you about the new challenge over at

Lexi's Creations

and this time the theme is "Focus on the Sentiment"!

I used the special friend sentiment available here. 

I wanted this card to have a real simple feel to it so used my 

fav kraft and just a few punched flowers & a couple of gems.
