Punches and/or Dies with Crafty Calendar!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & have something nice planned for the weekend! Can you believe it's July 2nd already......and we're now closer to next Christmas than we are to last lol!!
So the 1st Saturday of any month means only one thing......a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar! This time the theme is a nice, easy one for you...... PUNCHES and/or DIES!

We're lucky enough to have the fabulous All Dressed Up sponsor us this month & they very kindly gave us some images to play with. I chose Smile, It's Your Birthday......she reminds me so much of my own little Miss who can often be found with a camera in her hands! I coloured her with Copics, used papers that were freebies with a mag, I added a filmstrip die cut, a die cut butterfly & leaves then finished with some hand dyed seam binding, lots of flowers & a few gems.

Rightio my friends, that's my lot for today......thanks for calling & for any comments you might leave. Whatever you're up to have a lovely weekend!

Festive Greetings!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & enjoying the weekend. We have sunshine today & beautiful blue skies.......and a line full of washing......oh, it's the simple things that make me happy lol.
So for today I have a Christmas card to share, I'm way behind this year so I better get a wiggle on if I don't want to be rushing around later on in the year! I wanted to use up some stash & the first thing I came to was this gorgeous snowman & paper by Nitwits.
There's 3 layers to him & I added some glitter for extra sparkle. a die cut signpost, some punched snowflakes & chitchat word stickers. The larger snowflake is layered with a ribbon bow & finished with a sprinkling of glitter.
Rightio, I'm off for a crafty hour or two..........thanks for calling & whatever you're up to I hope you manage a little crafty time!

Sharing an Oldie this Friday!

Hey lovelies, happy Friday! Hope you're all well & have something nice planned for the weekend. Me? I'm planning a long, lazy weekend.....it's been a strange kind of a week.......super busy but not very productive so 'm hoping a couple of days to recharge my batteries will see me raring to go come Monday morning!

So being Friday you know what that means......time to share an oldie with our lovely hostess Erika over at Snappycrafts as she invites us to look back over past crafty makes. If you fancy joining in it's easy, just pop on over & link up! I'm feeling a little bit Christmas-y right now so thought I'd share a couple of Christmas themed ATC's I made the year before last.
I started with inky backgrounds then rolled up & slightly flatted lots of snippets of different widths to form the tree. A stamped word, a length of twine & a sprinkle of frantage and that was it!
Rightio, that's me for today.....better go get on if I want my lazy weekend, Thanks for calling......have a lovely weekend!

A little bit shabby......

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well & had a lovely weekend.
Here's hoping your Monday is going well.........me, I've only cut through the magnetic shim for my cut'n'boss.....not once.....and not even twice........but three times!!! Don't know what I was thinking lol. So today the weather was perfect for crafting......cool & rainy, just how I like it so I made a card!
Lots of distressed layers, I gave the top one a whitewash then added an assortment of flowers, a wooden birdcage, some die cut leaves & a sentiment.......sounds simple? It took me ages lol, couldn't decide on a layout so in the end I just stuck the brown flower & went for it! It was a lovely change to make a card without a stamped or digital image on......kind of reminded me of the early days when I was scrapbook crazy & I definitely got the urge to do some more. Plus, it's a lot easier on my hands!
Rightio, off for a wander around your blogs......once I've ordered myself another magnetic shim!!
Thanks for calling & any comments you might leave........I'm so very thankful.

Love Paris!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well. Wednesday already......I don't know where the days have gone this week......it's gonna be Christmas before we know it lol! I have a card to share today, a just-because-I-wanted-to-make-it card with a hint of Paris. Miss Rebecca loves all things French & I know she would love Paris.....and I'd love to take her....only thing is she won't go on a plane, or a boat, or even a train and since neither of us has grown wings I think we'll be staying put lol. Maybe one day we'll get there.
I started with papers from Teresa Collins & I distressed the edges a little. The image is from a little pad from Joy crafts, the film strip die is joy crafts too. The bow die, flourish & butterfly are from Cheery Lynn, the word love is from Clearly Besotted & the flowers are from my stash! I wasn't sure if the flowers were a bit top heavy but I quite liked them so I left them.
Rightio, I'm away for an early night.....thanks for calling.....see you soon!

Snow much fun!

Morning friends, hope you're all well. Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my canvas yesterday.......you gave my confidence a real boost & I'm definitely feeling inspired to have a go at something else! So for today I have something completely different......my 1st Christmas card of 2016! I used an image from a LOTV art pad! So quick & easy to make but I think they're fab.....and I kept this one nice & flat for posting too! Simple matting & layering, some paper string & a peel off sentiment then I added some sparkle with my wink of stella glitter pen. Ok friends, that's my lot for today......thanks for calling & I'll see you soon.

Creativity takes Courage!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well.           Weather first lol........another dull, damp, grey day here so once the jobs are done I'll be off for a crafty play! Today I have another canvas to share.........and I drew her myself........eeeek! Now I know I'm not the best......and she's far from perfect but I love her! My daughter is taking GCSE Art & sometimes doubts herself (she's amazing) and I'm always telling her to be brave & go with what she feels so when she flipped that & said I need to do the same I kinda thought I needed to practice what I preach lol. You might remember I gave you a sneak peak of her face a few days ago.....well, she started out as a pencil drawing then I simply cut her out & drew around her onto the canvas......had some messy play with acrylics, inks & stencils then I painted her with acrylics. No blending or shading cos I have no idea how to do that (yet) then I used pencil to add some highlights in her hair & to outline her. Last I added the words: Creativity takes Courage........and so she'll be off to join Rebecca's wall of canvas & I hope every time she looks at it she'll take courage from it & realise that if her old Mum can have a go then there's nothing stopping her! Rightio, better go get them jobs done......thanks for calling......see you soon!

Sharing an Oldie this Friday!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!
As expected the sunshine has been replaced with dull, grey dampness again so I think some extra crafty time is on the cards......any excuse lol!
I've been thinking about Christmas this week & yesterday made my 1st Christmas card of the year.......yippee! I know I have a way to go but it's a start, right? So as it's Friday & time to share an oldie with Erika I thought to share a Christmas make........and I chose these x stitch banners.......and now I'm thinking I want to do some more x stitch! Not sure my hands are up to it but maybe I'll try......just a little at a time lol! I started these years ago when my kids were young then as so often happens they were left in the back of the cupboard! I finally got to add the lettering & the beads a couple of years ago and luckily even now they look as good as new.
If you fancy sharing an oldie (of the crafting type!!) don't forget to pop over to Erika & link up so she can come visit you too!
Have a lovely weekend folks, & whatever the weather I hope you manage a little crafting time! Thanks for calling, see you soon.

Book, book, bookmark!

Hi crafty friends, hope you're all well!
What a change in the weather!! After a few days of way to hot sunshine we're back to a cool, grey & misty morning......much more my type of weather......and perfect for crafting lol!
I bought myself a couple of new digis recently...... Library Girl from Sasayaki Glitter ......isn't she fab? And all those books......oh my, I'm sure I'd have bookcase space for them all! So new books mean new bookmarks........and Rebecca loves a bookmark so that's what I did! Coloured with Copics & layered onto some snippets, I added some paper string, a heart charm, punched borders, die cut flowers & some pearls.......ooh, and the sentiment I printed off!
Rightio, that's me for today.......whatever you're up to, hope your days a good one!

A mixed media weekend!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!
Did you have a lovely weekend? We had gorgeous sunshine, well gorgeous if you like it but you know what a misery guts I am when it comes to the weather.........I much prefer Autumn & Winter! It was lovely though, to be able to dry the washing outside.....it always smells so much nicer, don't you think......and nothing beats snuggling up in line-dried fresh bedding......it's the simple things lol!
I had a lovely crafty play this weekend........I altered an old jar for my new-ish craft room! I recently moved from my beautiful teal & cream craft room as I was struggling to get upstairs & I now craft in  my equally lovely purple dining room.......but nothing matches so I have a good excuse to play!
I took inspiration from one of the makes in Craft Stamper magazine, although I was a bit heavy handed with the crackle paint lol.......it did crackle, just not as well as I would have liked! I started by covering the jar with white Gesso, then added the crackle then dabbed with distress paint. I dyed the seam binding with the same paint & added a few embellishments......and I love it! It perfectly matches my room......and keeps my pens & pencils tidy!
And if I fancy a change it looks fab with a battery operated tealight in!
Below is a sneak peak of my very 1st mixed media girl.....I sketched her a while ago but finally got around to adding her a to a canvas.........hopefully I'll be brave enough to show her to you!
Rightio, better go......I have more washing to peg out lol! Thanks for calling, have a lovely day &
I'll see you soon.

Father's Day/For a Male with Crafty Calendar!

.
We're sponsored by the very fabulous & very funny Dr Digi House of Stamps who very kindly allowed us to choose an image each to play with. I chose Duncan Disorderly .......I think he's awesome, I love his attitude!

Another canvas!

Morning my crafty friends........hope you're all well.
Are you enjoying the long weekend? We have typical dull, grey Bank Holiday weather here but not to worry........it won't stop me having a crafty hour......or two lol!
I have another canvas to share today, another for Miss Rebecca's wall of canvas this time of one of her best friends. Again, the canvas is 6x4 & I started with a layer of Gesso then the fun part......scrunched up tissue paper! Tuquoise, teal & blues & white were the colours I chose in paint, spray inks & water & I just played until I got the look I wanted. I painted the frame with blue acrylic & added a few flowers, pearls & stems. I used my Dymo for the words & finished with a scattering of gems.
Thanks for calling......enjoy the rest of your day......see you soon!

Changing It Up!

Hi friends, happy Saturday! Hope you're all well & having a lovely weekend!
Well, my play with the Brushos yesterday was a bit of a disaster if I'm honest......let's just say I need lots more practise lol.......although it has left me with some lovely coloured fingernails!
It got me to thinking though........how often I go back to using techniques & colours I'm comfortable with.......so I decided to change it up a bit & go with colours that while I may use them separately I'd really go out of my comfort zone & use them all together!
I started with a 6x4 canvas primed with Gesso then built up the layers using acrylic paint, distress paint & a tester pot from Wilkos lol! I added interest with a stencil, a lid & an old credit card. The sentiment is my own......wish I'd stuck it on straight now but not to worry.......then lastly I added 3 flowers to pretty it up a bit........another make for Miss Rebecca's wall of canvas!
Thanks for popping by.......I'm off back to my desk.......see you soon!

Sharing an Oldie this Friday!

Hi friends, wishing you a good morning from a very dull, dreary & cold Yorkshire Coast!
Perfect crafting weather methinks & once I've got my jobs done that's exactly what I plan on doing! Not quite sure what yet but I'm thinking messy........and I did just treat myself to some Brusho colour crystals so almost definitely messy lol.
First though, as it's Friday you know what that means......time to share an oldie with our lovely Erika over at Snappycrafts as she invites us to share a past crafty make & link up over on her blog.........then we can all follow that link & visit you!!
Today I have a mixed media piece to share.......the image is from Oddball Art & I stamped her onto tissue & coloured her with Copics then dampened the edges so's I could gently tear it......then I pressed it into the background, the torn edges blended much better than a cut edge. The background was made by melting wax crayon with a heat gun then whilst that was still damp I gave it a sprinkle of glitter. I finished with some die cut stars, Tim Holtz stickers & a doodled black & white border........and yes, you guessed right......Miss Rebecca took stole it away to her room before it was even properly dry lol!
Rightio, better get on......thanks for calling & have a lovely day.......and don't forget I have some candy here if you fancy entering!!

Sharing an Oldie this Friday!

Good afternoon friends, hope you're all well!
It's a beautiful day here on the Yorkshire Coast and there's washing on the line......it's the simple things that make my happy lol.......and a line full of washing is one of them!
So being Friday you know what you have to do........share an oldie with Erika.....simply link up a past crafty make just for the fun of it.....but don't forget to let Erika know so she can visit you back!
I have a mixed media canvas to share today.......not too old, it's only from last year but I finally got a place to hang it in my newly decorated bedroom! I remember I got in a right old mess making it.....but it was great fun! Lots of scrunched up tissue for the background then I dabbed the different paints on with some scrunched up kitchen roll. The heart is simply strips of paper then I added the ric rac & flowers. To the centre of the flowers I added glaze & some tiny seed beads then lastly I finished with some Tim Holtz chit chat stickers.
That's it from me for today......thanks for calling.....see you soon!

Butterfly pegs

Hi friends, hope you're all well & sharing the same lovely weather as me......beautiful blue skies, no wind & no rain........for now, anyway lol.
Since I've not been able to grip my Copics (blooming RA!) & therefore not been able to colour anything I've been spending my crafty time doing other bits & pieces and trying to build up a stash of ready made embellishments. I started with these little pegs.......so quick & easy I just punched 2 butterflies per peg, layered them together, added a pearl & glued them onto a peg......simple but very effective I think.
Rightio, off to do some jobs....thanks for calling & whatever you're up to I hope you manage a little crafty time!

On your feet, lose your seat!

Good morning my crafty friends, bloggers & kitty lovers!
Hope you're all well & had a lovely, long weekend! No crafting but I do have some kitty pics to share today......as the title says....it's a case of 'on your feet, lose, your seat' in our house right now.....and they managed to fit 6 to a seat lol!

And here they are again after a shuffle around.........Fred looks ever so comfy....don't you just want to tickle that tum lol!

And here's a pic of Mama Lola........not bad considering she only had 5 kitties!!
How we're ever going to part with them I don't know!

Have a good day friends, I'll be back tomorrow with something craft related!

Alpha Dictionary - S

Oh my gosh, I really am cutting it fine this time......didn't think I was gonna make it at all for this fortnight's Alpha Dictionary challenge over at The Craft Barn as time feels like it's flown past.......did somebody steal a week?
The letter was S & we had to include a shell......so I chose seahorse....and I based my page on some ATC's I made last year. I used torn book paper for the background then swiped with some blue & beige paint. Next came a layer of cheesecloth then I added lots of die cut elements. The seahorses were cut on my Scan n Cut then covered with crackle paint, once dry I dabbed with distress ink. The seaweed was cut in assorted card, as were the seashells then lastly I added some die cut bubbles & some clear gems.
I'm loving this challenge....but next time I won't be leaving it as late.......famous last words, eh?
Rightio, I'm off to bed! Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.....thanks for calling!

Time to Share an Oldie with Erika!

Hi friends, happy Friday although I can't believe it's here already!
Do you have something nice planned for the weekend? I'm planning a mixed media play day.....at least that way I don't have to worry about the strange weather we're having!
So I have an oldie to share today, if you fancy sharing too then pop on over to our lovely hostess Erika at Snappycrafts and link up.
My oldie is not really much of an oldie but I just wanted to share it anyway cos I love the sentiment.......and while I may not be able to fly free right now I do have lots to be thankful for......plus I love the colour lol!
I started with a Dylusions spray ink then simply stamped & stenciled and finished with some of Tim Holtz chit chat stickers.
Rightio, off to get some tea on the go! Thanks for calling & whatever you have planned for the weekend I hope the weather's kind to you!

Live your life........

Hi crafty bloggers......hope you're all well & warm!
If you're having the same weather as us it's blooming freezing.......bright blue skies & sunshine one minute, the next we're having hail, snow & wind and it's so cold I had to put the heating on!
So for today I have a quick & easy card to share.......still no colouring as my hands won't allow it but to be honest I'm having fun without my Copics......never thought I'd say that lol! Anyway, I love this Inkylicious stamp.......life's not been too easy these past few years & it reminds me that when times are tough there's always something simple (and cheap) you can do to bring about a smile! Finally though, things are starting to look up........and I have some fantastic news that I can't share just yet...........let's just say it's given me the much needed boost I need..........and it's gonna make this Christmas extra special!!
I love the chalkboard effect......I simply stamped with white ink onto black card then heat embossed with a clear embossing powder. Then I layered onto paper from Teresa Collins Vintage Finds paper pad, added some seam binding & finished with a punched tab & 3 pearls!
Rightio, better go feed the troops......thanks for calling!

Shaving foam fun!

Hi my crafty friends, hope you're all well & have something nice planned for the weekend!
Not much going on here.....the boys are at work, Rebecca is snowed under with her school art work & me? Well, I have the best job.......I'm on kitty duty! I will post some more pictures soon......promise!
Thanks so much for all your kind words on my RA.......I think I've now accepted it's just something I have to live with.....and I will.......it's not gonna beat me lol! It does mean I can't craft exactly as I used to......I can't hold my Copics to colour properly......but there's plenty more I can do!
So with that in mind my makes for today are a couple of congratulations cards I made for the winners of my last candy......& I used shaving foam!! A great technique.....messy, fun & inky.....& it works every time......and oh my, does it smell good!! Once dried, I simply cut the backgrounds to size, mounted onto some coordinating card, added a die cut sentiment & finished with a couple of gems!
Sorry the photo isn't the best....we seem to be heading back toward Winter in my neck of the woods!
Thanks for calling lovelies......have a great weekend!

Sharing an Oldie!

Hi friends.....hope you're all well....and happy Earth Day to you all!
It's been a strange week here, not much going on in the way of crafting but I think my
hospital appointment on Monday was a success......kind of lol. I had an injection for pain relief
but to be honest it's not made the difference I was hoping for. I do have some relief but am
still struggling with my hands......although not quite as much........but I am finding it easier to move about so that's a fair trade off I suppose. And I have to start on some new drugs so there's still hope lol.
Anyway, onto brighter things......It's Friday which means it's share an oldie day with our lovely hostess Erika at Snappycrafts as she invites us to link up our past crafty makes.
In honour of Earth Day I decided to share a little scrap album page I made for Rebecca. She always tells me she loves me 'right around the world and back again' so this image was just perfect. It's from D'Arcy's Diaries & I remember I coloured her with Spectrum Noir pens, the butterfly border is Tim Holtz & I finished with a couple of die cut flowers & flourishes.
Thanks for calling today & whatever you have planned for the weekend.....have fun!

Alpha/Dictionary - D + pink!

Hi crafty friends, hope your Sunday is a good one!
As usual I'm last minute with my make for the Alpha/Dictionary challenge over at the Craft Barn.......really need to get myself organised but the fortnight always seem to fly past.....or did somebody fast forward time? Hmmm, that's the only explanation I have  lol!
So anyway, enough waffle......the letter was D & there was a twist......to add the colour pink!
Another vintage style page today, the colours much prettier in real life but with this dull, dingy weather that's the best I could get.
The image chose the word for me......Don't you think she looks delightful? Oh, to have lived in the times where we could dress up like that & have such elaborate hairstyles!
The backing paper is from Santoro/Trimcraft & I stamped a few roses onto it then added paper & an image from Studio Light Romantic pictures collection. I added a few die cut embellies, some ribbon roses & the alpha stickers to finish.
Rightio, better go link up before it's too late!
Thanks for calling...........have a lovely evening!

Crafty Calendar Midway Reminder!

Hey there my crafty friends & bloggers......hope you're weekend has gotten off to a good start! I think ours is gonna be a lazy kind of weekend......pj days, maybe a film (or two) & something nice to eat.....ooh, and lots of kitty cuddles of course!
I do have a crafty make to share today......a very simple, quick & easy make to remind you of the latest challenge over at Crafty Calendar where the theme is ANYTHING GOES!
A nice, easy challenge & we have 2 sponsors so some fab prizes to be won....you can find all details on the main blog here.

I kept my card very simple using a pre coloured image from Fabrika Fantasy. She's called Earth Fairy & I simply layered her onto a piece of orange paper (another scrap used!) then onto brown card.....she looks very Autumnal to me so the colour choice was easy. I then finished with a coupe of chit chat word stickers......forever thankful......for this beautiful Earth we inhabit.
So that's all from me for today, thanks for calling & whatever you're up to I hope your weekend is fab!

Sharing an Oldie this Friday!

Hi my crafty friends......hope you're all well & looking forward to a lovely weekend!
Just wanted to pop on & share an oldie this Friday with our lovely hostess Erika over
at Snappycrafts as she invites us to share our past crafty makes.......any style, shape or colour, all she asks is you leave her a comment so she can visit you back!
My share for today is a super quick & easy make and a great way to use up lots of snippets! If I remember rightly the backing paper is Docrafts/Papermania & is from the Hot Diggity Dog range....everything else is punched/die cut from snippets of coloured card.....then I finished with 4 gems & some pearly centers for the flowers.
Rightio, that's my lot for today.....thanks for calling & I'll see you tomorrow.

March ATC Swaps!

Hi my crafty friends, hope you're all well!
It's such a miserable day here today......dull, dark & nonstop rain......perfect crafting weather don't you think? Not much going on here but I have managed to sit at my desk for an hour & catch up with some emails & hopefully tonight I can have a blog catch up too! I have 2 medical appointments next week, one in particular I'm hoping will bring some much needed pain relief, especially for my hands......keep everything crossed for me lol!
So for today I have some ATC's to share.....these are my makes for our March swap where the theme was TRAVEL

Now my go to place to travel to would be Paris so I started with a pink stripe paper, distressed & inked the edges then added an Eiffel Tower cut on my Silhouette. I added some stamping in a light grey, a charm, a little gem flourish & finished with the word travel made with my Dymo.
Here's some of the swaps I received:
It always amazes me how so different our ATC's are......we seem to have all techniques covered in our little group, it's a real treat waiting to see what comes through the postbox every month!
Rightio, off for some tea.......thanks for calling......see you soon!

Alpha Dictionary - G

Hi crafters, hope you're all well & having a lovely weekend.
Those kittens sure are keeping me busy, they are sooooo adorable I have no idea how I'm going to part with any of them! I did manage an hour at my desk today.....didn't want to miss out on the Alpha Dictionary challenge over at The Craft Barn where the letter was G!! Ooh heck, I didn't half struggle with that one, especially with my hands being that bad I can't grip my pens to colour anything! Anyway, I had a little rummage around & found an image I'd coloured a while ago......a few die cut pieces, a few layers and job done.......a very loose connection I know  (my chosen word was garage) but at least I managed to get a page done......just lol!
Rightio, off to snuggle those fur babies......thanks for calling, I'll be back tomorrow with the winners of my birthday candy!

Birthday Candy!

Hi my crafty friends & bloggers, hope you're all well!
We woke to quite a heavy frost this morning & it's oh, so cold......but I don't care cos.......it's my Birthday & I would love you to come share the day with me! I have no crafty offering today but I do have CANDY! First though, I want to say thank you so much for my cards & gifts, I really am spoilt, so much so that I don't even mind that my age has the numbers 1 & 5 in it lol!

So I have 2 candy lots:
First up is a set of 36 dual tip watercolour Artiste pens by Docrafts.
These are fabulous, so many pretty colours you'll be spoilt for choice & so easy to use. I use mine with a koi waterbrush......simply scribble on my palette then pick up the colour with the waterbrush.

The 2nd candy is the Spring issue of the Crafters Inspiration kit from Crafters Companion, it includes everything you need to make some fantastic creations: stamps, dvd's x 2, embossing folder, dies & an 84 page magazine full of inspiration & ideas.

If you'd like to be in with a chance to win either candy here's what you have to do:
1.   Post the candy pic below in your sidebar with a link back to my blog
2.    Add your name to the linky
3.    Leave a comment letting me know if you want to enter candy 1, 2 or both
4.    I'd love for you to become a follower if you're not already

I'll leave it open until March 31st.......cos you know I'm gonna be busy with the kittens these next few weeks lol!
