Seems ages since I last posted as I've not been well but I'm here now

and feeling ok.......even managed some crafty time at my desk yesterday!

 I have a Christmas card to share today..........some faux stitching, some

decoupage, inky & distressed edges, die cuts, ribbon, pearls......lots

of different bit & pieces & my favourite blues.

for the weekend. We're staying home, planning some nice crafty time

and then gonna prepare something nice for tea.....oh, what an exciting life

I lead lol! I need to make a few not-too-fussy Christmas cards this

year so decided to go with 5x5 card blanks and an art pad (or 2) from

LOTV, they're so easy to use & packed full of the sweetest images.

My paper is from Bearly Mine.....I don't often use digi papers but wow,

these are FAB, my favourite blues for Christmas & I'll definitely be

using them again.

Shine like a Star!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!

It's a cold, damp, foggy day here on the Yorkshire Coast so I don't think I'll be 

going too far.....any excuse to have a play at my desk lol.

So today I have a little 'just because' card to share, love this image & am

ashamed to say it's the first time I've used her......but it won't be the last!

I coloured with Copics, the paper & ribbon are from my scrap box, gems from

stash & sentiment is LOTV.

Free your heart

Morning lovelies........hope you're all well, sending hugs to those that want them!

Well, Saturday's shopping trip was a success, you wouldn't believe how hard it

is to find jeans for my 6 foot 3 17 year old son, we got there in the end....

......cost a small fortune though.....and then of course, I had to have a little trip

to our 2 craft shops lol!

As you might know, I've recently been having a play at mixed media....

.....and I'm loving it! Not been brave enough to show all my makes yet but this

one I'm quite pleased with. I started with a blank 5x7 canvas, gave it 2 coats of

 gesso then a coat of mica pearls....while that was still wet I dabbed it all

over with some scrunched up kitchen roll. Next I added some torn pieces of

paper & then to get the circles I used a bottle lid dipped in paint & dabbed all

over in random patterns. I made the heart with some air dry clay then when

 dry coloured with a Copic, added a thick layer of clear crackle paint. Once that

 was dry I dabbed a dark brown ink pad over the surface then wrapped the

 heart in some wire I pinched from my jewellery making supplies! Wings, key

 & cogs are all die cuts, I painted the wings & the key with mica paints, curled

 the wings slightly to give some  movement & then hung the key to the heart

 with another piece of jewellery wire. Lastly, I added the cogs, some gems,

 some clear dew drops & the words that I cut with my Silhouette!

Morning crafters......hope you're all well!

Today I'm sharing my Dt make for the latest challenge over at Sparkles where

the theme is THINGS WITH WINGS. A nice easy challenge, I think as us crafters

seem to love all things fairy, butterfly & bird! I seem to be making lots of

flatter, thinner cards recently & this one is no exception.....image & sentiment

are both from LOTV, gingham paper is from my scrap drawer & gems

& ribbon from my stash. 

We have the fabulous & very generous Marianne Designs sponsoring us this

month.....the prize is either 2 dies or 1 die/1 stamp so very definitely worth your

Christmas is a season of the heart!

Morning crafty bloggers......hope you're all well!

Today I'm sharing a finally-I-got-it-finished piece of cross stitch!

Yup, I finally got round to finishing up some more cross stitch...so watch

this space lol! Most pieces are done with the stitching, just need to decide

whether they're going in a frame, on a cushion, on a book.....any other

ideas most welcome! Love the soft, folksy feel to this piece, IRL the colours

are gorgeous....think it might end up in a painted frame on my mantel

 for Christmas.

Rightio, my friends, I better go get my face on.......off clothes shopping

with my almost 18 year old son, can't decide if I'm looking forward

I made a tag this time using my favourite frosty blues, the gorgeous image

is called Snow Cuddles & she's available here. I coloured her with my

Copics, added some snippets of lace & ribbon, I glittered her hood, distressed

the edges of the paper & finished with a layered snowflake & some gems!

Little Book of Christmas 2014

Morning lovelies........hope you're all well!

I managed an hour, ok more like 2 hours playing at my desk yesterday,

thought it was about time I made this years' Little Book of Christmas.

Some of you might remember I make a book every year, usually in

the Summer holidays, to hold any & all things Christmas.

Gift ideas, card lists, addresses, recipes, movies we watched, craft ideas to 

try.........if it's to do with our Christmas it goes in my book!

Usually Miss Rebecca will choose the image for the front, this time

I didn't even ask her cos I knew she'd choose this one! 

I coloured her with Copics, die cut some snowflakes....lots of matting,

layering, sticking, snipping & knotting later this is what I came

up with.....useful practical & nice to look at! It's fun to look back over 

some old books too, see how older Christmas's compare and you know what?

Mostly our Christmas's are the same.....filled with family,  fun, laughter,

 chocolate & good food........and a cheesy Christmas movie......or 2!

Last week I found this quite easy but this week.......not so easy lol so I

thought I'd try something different, not so sure if I like it but it's good to

 try something new, right? My B's are for: black, book, bare (as in an uncoloured

image!!!) bow, & bling! Looking at it I think maybe I should have added

a blue sky for a little pop of colour.......and another B!

Quick & Easy!

Morning lovelies.........how are you all today? Good, I hope.
I know I've said it before but I love this time of the year, I especially
love getting up extra early in the morning, well before the kids &
having an hour or two at my desk when the house is quiet......not so good
for taking photos though lol!
 Today's card was made with quick & easy
and flat for posting in mind......and it fits the bill perfectly, think I
might even make a few more using different papers as they'd be perfect
for Cameron to take to the Charity shop where he volunteers.
So that's me for today.......it's weekly shop day so I'll be popping in &
out all morning........might even stop for coffee & a cake......naughty
but oh, so nice lol!

Leaves & Lace with Crafty Calendar!

Morning crafters.....hope you're all happy & well!
We've had a good week, all back to school/college & settled in fine & then yesterday
my 2nd eldest son James passed his driving theory test so now we're
just waiting for a date for his road test........eeekk!!

Today sees the start of the latest challenge over at the Crafty Calendar where

we'd like to see your makes showing LEAVES & LACE!

We have the fabulous Art by Miran sponsoring us this month & as usual, you

have all month to play, you can enter any crafty make you like so long as it fits the

theme & you can enter up to 3 times!

For my make I again used up lots of scraps from my stash, the wide cream lace has been

hanging around my craft room for ages just begging to be used. I used my Copics to colour

the image from Time for Tea Designs & the stamped sentiment is from LOTV.

A book for Bex!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well.

Today I'm sharing another attempt at mixed media.......now don't laugh, I know I have 

so much to learn & I'm having great fun learning lol! This make started life as a plain

book full of some gorgeous touchy feely paper, was gonna be an art journal for

me but guess what........yep, you guessed it......Miss Rebecca claimed it! Not to worry

though, it just gives me reason to make another one! 

I started by covering the whole thing with Gesso then came the most fun part,

adding bits for texture & playing with some home made texture paste. I used paper

doilies, home made masks, die cut cogs, crochet lace, pearls.....oooh, allsorts

of bits & pieces! Once everything was stuck firm & dry I then covered the

whole lot with another coat of Gesso....once THAT was dry I tucked the image (coloured with
 Copics) onto the die cut frame then cut an extra mat to cover it while I sprayed ink. That was

sooo much fun......did manage to spray my cream kitchen tiles a nice shade of purple

though! I used Perfect Pearls & Dylusions spray inks then once dry I inked the edges

with a black Memento inkpad, added a few resin flowers, some gems & made a 

wrap fastening with some waxed cotton cord.....and that's it! Ooh, I forgot to say I

stamped a couple words & added some metal corners too.

So that's it from me for today..........off to finish the sorting out I started the

 other day then catch up on some nasty housework.

We have a new challenge over at Nutcrafters starting today & the theme this time

was chosen by our lovely Sylvia & she chose B IS FOR........blue, boys

bread, bricks.....B can be for whatever you want it to be for, can't wait to

see your interpretations!

 I wanted to make a couple of ATC's for a swap I'm doing with

 my blog buddy Debbie & seeing as how her daughter bakes cakes & my son is training

 to be a chef i thought I'd combine the two. I decided my  B would be

 for blue, boy, buttons, Debbie's daughter is called Brogan, bake, braid and bowl.....oh, and

 bows in her hair too lol!

Nice & simple, I coloured them with my Copics, inked the edges of the spotty

paper & added some alphabet stickers to finish.

The images are from the Baked with Love set available from the Nutcrafters store

& there's also a freebies page over on the main blog.

We love to see all your crafty makes (doesn't have to be just cards) just

A little bit of Gorjuss!

Morning lovelies, hope you're all well!

Just popping in to share a real quick & easy Gorjuss themed make, no sentiment yet

as it's just for my box. There's a layer of decoupage on there, some punched flowers, die

cut corners & that huge bow.....don't think that will fit in an envelope lol! I have so

much of this lovely range & don't use it as often as I should......or maybe it's because

I love it so much I just want to keep it lol! I know Rebecca's friend  loves it too so

 maybe I'll make her a little scrap album for Christmas.

Rightio, better go do something......thought I might have a little tidy up & sort out in the 

craft room today in readiness for some Christmas crafting. Wish me luck &

if you don't see me for a couple of days you better send a search party lol...........I

Snowmen with Sparkles Christmas!

Morning crafters, hope you're all well.....and happy September to you too!
It's fast approaching my favourite time of the year, the nights are definitely drawing
in now & there's quite a chill in the air this morning......happy days!

The kids go back to school/college this week & that's usually the time when

my Christmas planning begins.......after I've had a few days to off to recover from

the holidays, that is!!  I do have a few cards already done thanks to being on the Sparkles Christmas Challenges Dt......and it just so happens we have a new challenge starting today!

The theme this time, as chosen by our lovely Mary is THERE'S NO MAN LIKE A SNOWMAN

so wether it be snowmen, snowladies or snowkiddies we'd like to see them!

I love using snowmen on my makes, love all the frosty blues that go with them &

for this card I wanted to keep it fairly flat for posting so just 2 layers of decoupage, a

 sentiment and a sprinkle of glitter was all I added.
